They are a tad dodgy to start with , so may be worth looking at replacing that , not expensive so worth a try

Hi Brake Light Switch Problem Very Common Epc Dash Light Should Be On To Indicate Fault Cheap To Replace Vw,skoda,audi,same Parts

Probably wont get an EPC light as its the light side of the switch that is faulty and not the engine ecu side.
