Spare Key - Cost effective solution

Featured Replies

Hello

I have just purchased a Superb 55 plate 1.9TDi Classic 100ps.

I am very happy with it so far. :cool:

It only came with one key and I need a spare, I have read horror stories about purchasing from EBAY whats the most cost effective solution.

Cheers Sterlos

I bought a key from Ebay (Poland I think) and coded it myself. Had to get the imobiser code from the dealers and get the blade cut. I already had vag-com to do the actual encoding. I'm not 100% on the individual costs but I think they were roughly

Key = £15

Blade cut = £5

Imobilser code = £15

Total = £35

Dealer price for above = £200+

Dealer cant give you the code now so if you dont have it your a bit stuck.

So in other words, only way of getting a spare key is to fork out at the dealers?? :eek:
