A very pleased Octavia convert.

Featured Replies

I bought my new Octavia Elegance 1.9 diesel DSG in March. It's in Anthracite Grey Metallic and looks superb. So far everything is wonderful and although I've only done local mileage in town, the MPG is fractionally under 40. This is a massive improvement on my previous Vauxhall Vectra SRi 1.8 petrol manual estate car.

I'm still getting acquaited with all the gimmicks and gizmos.

I think I need to buy wheel locking nuts as there isn't a key with the car so I presume that locknuts aren't fitted as standard. Are they nuts or bolts on this car? I notice that they are available on E-Bay for as little as £3.79 a set plus postage. Does anyone know if these cheapies are any good at all?

You can probably gather that I am no expert, but like to take an interest and of course save a few bob whenever possible.

Thanks in advance for any info. Tosker:thumbup:

have you double checked the spare wheel for the key? as i found mine in the tool kit.

You should have a locking wheel nut adapter in the spare wheel well ....one of the nuts on each wheel has a splined rather than hexagonal end on it and the only way to undo it is use the adapter
