How are the pads looking and why after a little blast last night have my discs gone blue

pads look like they have enough meat on them from that angle, although they do look like theyre made of wood for some reason!!

pop them out and check that they are within the thickness spec if your worried, but i suppose if you do that you may aswell just change them anyway!

you must have got your discs nice and hot to make them go blue like that. how old are the discs?

Discs are about 12-18 months old

Lets just say I was going a bit;):)

I suppose the blue will wear off ?????

yeah i made mine go blue a few times, it does clear off!

Loads of wear left on those pads yet don,t worry:thumbup:Discs going blue is not uncommon under "heavy" braking:rofl:

I thought blue was standard finish.

Look good to me mate

Thanks for the comments fellas :thumbup:

Pads fine, blueing caused by a surface heat treatment from "enthusiastic driving" ;) but why in the name of sanity did you fit cross-drilled discs?

I got them as they were about £30 a pair cheaper than the OE ones from the dealer. GSF

And I suppose they do look a little better but that wasn't the real reason :)

Ok; I don't like cross-drilled discs because the cross-drilling causes stress-raisers which can lead to cracking (unless the heat-treatment is done after the drillling).

or if the disc's are cast with the holes in.

tbh it's the only maybe the third time they have used in any real anger so I don't think they are in any real danger of heat related injuries

look good mate

i got grooved ones on mine, just beefs it up a bit.

pads are fine, mine are 3 yr old now and still prob only 40% worn. last service they were 30% n that was only a few month ago.
