Best coil overs on a budget, 1.9tdi estate

Featured Replies

Hiya,

After a set of coil overs, on a budget, for a 2008 1.9tdi estate, want about 50-60mm drop, what do you suggest. Was thinking perhaps FK highsports, cheap and cheerful?

Don't know about strut diameter though, I can provide reg if that will help?

yes mate sorry lol!

measured struts today, 50mm.

After slightly firmer and obviously lower. May go slightly lower depending on wheel rubbage. Running 18" Zeniths with the stock width 225/40s FYI. Was thinking -60mm front, no gap between tyre/arch then and -50mm rear, 10mm arch gap, so when loaded up with the kids or camping stuff should still look spot on. And then maybe a pair of rear spacers depending on how it sits afterwards.

Is it worth replacing the top mounts when fitting coil overs?

Another random question, your recommendations, will those struts have the relevant mounts for the brake lines etc?

Or would I get a better drive out of say the H&R Cup kit with a 55mm/40mm drop?

And I just keep editing as I'm reading reviews, on uk-mkivs you've rated the cup 55/40 kit quite well.... Is it the sport or comfort version BTW?

Morning,

You'll get a better ride quality with springs and shocks but yes all kits will have the needed brackets.

Did you have a budget in mind?

Around 500 give or take...

Think I'll go with the H&R kit... Ride quality should probably win now I have kids lol! But should I order Part Number 31043-8 or 31043-9? The only difference being the front axle load, both stating being suitable for the 1.9Tdi? Any Briskoda discount Damien? ;-) Any deals if I order front and rear Whiteline ARBs at the same time? ;-)

I'll order tomorrow, when shall I get 'em?

Thanks!

You'll need to check your front axle weight just to make sure.

£850.00 delivered.

ARBs would be next day, the H&R kit would be 5 - 7 days.
