Electric Window

Featured Replies

Hi folks

Does anyone know if there's a setting on the Octy which enables or disabled the one touch open/close on a particular window? My drivers window doesn't respond to pulling or pushing all the way on the switch (well it moves but stops when you release). The passenger window works as expected. Wondering if this is a setting or a bad switch?

Cheers

Try "teaching" it again. Push the window switch to the extreme, hold it till it reaches bottom position and keep holding for another 5s or so. Do same in the opposite direction.

Those things (even considering a single door) have more electronics now than the hubble telescope. Safety interlocks are there and keep checking the motor current during window move; in case something had changed (aging, battery exchange, etc) settings may go nutty...

That didn't seem to work :( I'm thinking it might be a bad switch. Anyone know how easy it is to pop the switch panel out?

Could try this.

It worked for the anti-trap system on my old Yeti:-

1 - Put key in drivers door
2 - Hold it in the open position and let all the windows drop
3 - Hold it in the lock position and let all the windows close
4 - That should hopefully(!) cure it

I guess you can do the same simply by long-pressing the remote control buttons on the key; I'm afraid though that since the main controls did not work, there may be same problem here.

Make sure you did the "programming" attempt well. Maybe you can give it another try...maybe hold the switch a bit longer.

One other thing to consider - could there be some additional restrictions in the window movement? Maybe a foreign body or gasket issue causes some added friction thus preventing automatic action? I.e. over-current on the motor causes electronics to read full open/close?

I get the same issue but my car has an on going issue with the anti pinch, I don't know how many times I've reprogrammed it now in my 5/6 weeks of ownership! It has been to skoda once regarding it and they fixed it for 6 hours, spoke to another dealer who has informed me skoda has released a technical bulletin about it and he told me they're releasing new window motors next month. So hopefully once they're installed my anti pinch and loss of programming issues will be resolved!

Just to say that I got some time this morning and fixed it. I tried reprogramming using the method above and by using the key in the door lock. Neither of these solved the issue. I found that the convenience opening and closing wasn't working from the remote even though it was enabled, so I turned it off in the car settings, turned the ignition off and back on and then re-enabled the convenience open and close in setup. This resulted in the convenience function working from the remote and also sorted the issue with the one press open and close on the drivers door.

MS Windows approach in car world

I had mine reprogrammed by skoda, the windows still hit the top and drop again lol. They did tell me there's no permanent fix as yet though but the new window motors should be released this month I hope because it's doing my head in especially in the peeing rain!

Any news on this as my drivers on has just started doing this.
