Instrument cluster upgrade?
You may wish to have a chat with Alex at vw-retrofit.co.uk. I am pretty sure he retrofits the digital cluster and can code. He retrofitted adaptive cruise control on my Kodiaq. I discussed doing the digital cluster at the time.

Kodiaq, Snapped Steering Column (now Steering Rack)
I purchased a nearly new car from Skoda Stockport 18 months ago. Long story short they had hidden damage to the car with just 1500 miles on the clock which I found the week following the purchase. A long process of resolution followed thereafter however I found their ethics, honesty and quality of work to be highly suspect. I would personally find another dealer.

Remove tailgate trim for rear dashcam install
I experienced exactly the same issue as yourself. I could lever off the lower section of trim but following the manual I could not release the upper half and felt like I would break the trim. I was not brave enough to apply the force it probably needs. I managed to connect the wires using 2 of the 4 the wiper cables and install a USB socked on the top of the trim using the gap made as shown in your photo. I was then able to plug my dashcam into the new ignition fed socket. By removing the wiper cable plug from the unit I was able to get access to tap the cables. I used a multi meter to determine the ignition fed leads. I had to use a torch and the video from my phone to understand the layout. It was awkward but work out in the end.

Abnormal coolant temperature
May be your water pump. The symptoms are possibly indicative the pump is intermittently not opening when the engine is warm to circulate coolant. I had this issue with these symptoms on my 190tdi. Water pump replacement fixed the issue. No errors get thrown up when this happens, just a engine that overheats intermittently when temp is reached. Your dealer should be able to confirm if it is the pump. As stated by SuperbTWM above.

Kodiaq 2.0TDI 200hp First Experience
Always liked the Canton, it is definitely better than the standard audio for the price and does require adjusting the settings to get the best out of it. A good source makes a difference. I saw no difference in my speakers performance from day one to now with running in. Suggest lag is not the issue with the diesel rather non linear throttle response which a pedal response box improves. May well be different now.

Considering a kodiaq with high mileage
I have a 190tdi Edition 7 seat and do find the ride a little firm over poor road surfaces at times however changing the tyre pressures from eco to comfort (2.7 to 2.4 bar) makes a difference which I personally find more comfortable.

Sourcing rear bootlid wiring loom grommet
Just a thought and quite possibly unhelpful at this point however I fitted a USB lighter socket into the tailgate trim on the boot. Wired into the wiper motor loom which is ignition switched. USB cable just runs round the window to the dashcam at the top. Can share more if helpful.

Considering Fabia Estate1.0 tsi purchase. Advice please.
Chose the 110bhp Fabia. The extra 6th gear helps for more relaxed motorway cruising and the extra power noticeable. Looked for and have disc brakes rear as drum was an option. Also have a spare in the boot, steel 15" and the tyre fitted matches the tyres fitted to the 15" wheels on the car. Purchased 2nd hand and put 12k on it with no issues at all. As an SE spec I fitted the OEM centre arm rest, door scuff plates, rubber mats. Enabled corner lights, hill start assist and auto door locking / unlocking with OBDEleven.

Kodiaq RS DPF Regeneration
I do similar driving with my 190tdi. No DPF issues at all. 3 years in. Last Skoda diesel was sold with 120k on the clock following similar driving too. Again never had DPF issues. My vehicles are keepers.

Dashcam fitted but caused airbag error due to incorrect fuse locations
As above, you need an inline fuse. Use a multimeter with the fuse out to determine the positive and insert accordingly or wiring diagram. Obviously not on a fuse that will trigger an issue such as the airbag. Rear wiper was my choice. The other option was the blind spot fuse (if you have the option). Decided to determine the polarity as I did not want to draw extra current across the fuse that was drawn off. Not that it really matters with the original fuse rating plus the small current draw of the dash cam.

Dashcam fitted but caused airbag error due to incorrect fuse locations
I used a breakout wire akin to the one in the link above. It allows you to use the rear wiper fuse and not be restricted
