  1. I noticed water leaking down the side and door opening of the A post onto the carpet. Looking closer it appears to be draining along the bottom edge of the glove box. Can anyone advise on its cause?
  2. Would there be any issues, as I assume they would have stiffer side walls, on handling?
  3. My tyres are getting close to needing to be replaced. Current my 215/50/17 tyres are all 94 W. Would it matter if one axle was replace with 98 W and if so which axle would it be best to mount them on?
  4. VW have recommended that 509 is not compatible with earlier VW oil grades. Manoil do produce VW509 oil, but I think it is more expensive.
  5. I drove my car a short distance this morned and when I got back in, a short while after turning the ignition on an alarm sounded from the central console area. It stays on for a little while after the ignition has been turned off. It sounds like a burglar alarm but is too quiet to scare anyone off. I have never had this happen before. There are no other warning lights to suggest what the cause is. Can anyone advise?
  6. It is a Westfalia tow bar, which I believe is OEM for the Skoda tow bar. fuse 28,38 and 44 are missing.
  7. I can't think why it should go while I was fiddling with the light unit but then, equally, I cannot think why a single fuse should knock out all the lights and not effect the car
  8. My car is fitted with a reversing camera and a Westfalia towing hook. Trying to sort out the side/ stop light on one side of the trailer I must have blown a fuse as none of the lights work now. But which fuse? The three assigned fuse positions do not have fuses. The only indication is that the front parking assister no longer works. Could that have been used? Being linear minded I do not understand why a single fuse should have knocked out all the trailer lights as they have separate circuits and their own fuses (all the lights still work on the Superb estate). Hiding the fuses and providing such a small diagram suggests they do not want plebs to touch them!
  9. Is there any way to turn off the night time sat nav screen? Pretty much all I can see is a red dart on a black background making navigation virtually impossible, especially on the move.
  10. I have just bought a Mk II Guardsman dog guard for my Mk III with a panoramic roof. It fits exactly. The only issue is that it needs longer 'J' bolts (208 - 210 mm) than those for the MkII. Personally, it is such a tight fit and doesn't rattle that I probably won't bother with the 'J' bolts. Note that the standard grill is one 'square' taller than the panoramic (part number with P suffix) version. I was put off the Mk III version because it has a lower grill extension which requires the cargo bay cover end to stick up when fitted.
  11. Possible. I always carry the keys in my pocket. Thank you
  12. Periodically my Superb estate decides to open all its windows. Is there a reason or way of stopping this very annoying trait?
  13. You are right. I couldn't get the plug in until I took terminal locking tab off. Tried it just now and it went in. Must have ben the wrong way around. Said I was thick!
  14. For those thick, like me, the purple cover slides off towards the centre of the car (with a bit of effort).
  15. Both my screen washer jets are blocked, while the rear jet is pushing out a lot of fluid. I never though that I would need to ask this but how can I clear them? I have no idea if it is a fan type sprayer. It just seemed to go on the screen like any other screen washer (when it was working!). 2015 Superb Estate. Everything thing appears to be hidden inside the bonnet.
