  1. It is a Westfalia tow bar, which I believe is OEM for the Skoda tow bar. fuse 28,38 and 44 are missing.
  2. I can't think why it should go while I was fiddling with the light unit but then, equally, I cannot think why a single fuse should knock out all the lights and not effect the car
  3. My car is fitted with a reversing camera and a Westfalia towing hook. Trying to sort out the side/ stop light on one side of the trailer I must have blown a fuse as none of the lights work now. But which fuse? The three assigned fuse positions do not have fuses. The only indication is that the front parking assister no longer works. Could that have been used? Being linear minded I do not understand why a single fuse should have knocked out all the trailer lights as they have separate circuits and their own fuses (all the lights still work on the Superb estate). Hiding the fuses and providing such a small diagram suggests they do not want plebs to touch them!
  4. Is there any way to turn off the night time sat nav screen? Pretty much all I can see is a red dart on a black background making navigation virtually impossible, especially on the move.
  5. I have just bought a Mk II Guardsman dog guard for my Mk III with a panoramic roof. It fits exactly. The only issue is that it needs longer 'J' bolts (208 - 210 mm) than those for the MkII. Personally, it is such a tight fit and doesn't rattle that I probably won't bother with the 'J' bolts. Note that the standard grill is one 'square' taller than the panoramic (part number with P suffix) version. I was put off the Mk III version because it has a lower grill extension which requires the cargo bay cover end to stick up when fitted.
  6. Periodically my Superb estate decides to open all its windows. Is there a reason or way of stopping this very annoying trait?
  7. You are right. I couldn't get the plug in until I took terminal locking tab off. Tried it just now and it went in. Must have ben the wrong way around. Said I was thick!
  8. For those thick, like me, the purple cover slides off towards the centre of the car (with a bit of effort).
  9. Both my screen washer jets are blocked, while the rear jet is pushing out a lot of fluid. I never though that I would need to ask this but how can I clear them? I have no idea if it is a fan type sprayer. It just seemed to go on the screen like any other screen washer (when it was working!). 2015 Superb Estate. Everything thing appears to be hidden inside the bonnet.
  10. My wife's fob has just given up. Fortunately not a keyless system. Back home the spare worked. Swapped batteries around and only the spare worked again. Where do I go from here?
  11. Mine was supplied and fitted through Witter.
  12. Two credit cards with a flat screwdriver worked for me, but it isn't for the feint hearted!
  13. Thanks for the reply. One last question. I've seen a number of 6V0 601 025 L (as opposed to A), mainly from Rapid's. Is that the same wheel but by a different manufacturer?
  14. With the seats fully back there is still loads of foot space in the rear, which makes me wonder why they penny piched and didn't fit folding seat bases in the estate?
  15. My 2015 2.0 150bhp SEL doesn't use AdBlue. It has just been Mot'd and on the emissions it just states 'too low for equipment to measure'
  16. I'm looking to buy some spare alloy wheels for the wife's Fabia. What I do not know is the composition of the part numbers. My wife's wheel has part number 6VO 602 025A. I have seen wheels for sale with the part number 5JA 601 025L which look the same. My question is are these numbers for the same design of alloy wheel?
  17. I checked it when I picked it up and it was on the bottom of the rod, so I got them to top it up. It was there to be serviced when I first saw it. It is a 65 reg.
  18. A couple of things. Firstly should the engine be consuming 1 liter of oil in 4,000 miles? It was serviced at 36k and when I checked it today the oil level was at the botton of the level. Secondly, since yesterday the engine has started hunting at idle and then it stops. On the throttle it is non responsive until pressed about half way when the power cuts back in. On a short journey this morning I noticed a lot of fumes (water vapour?) coming out of the exhaust. Any ideas of what is happening or is it just the joys of computerised management systems?
  19. Is the keyless ignition reliable on the Fabia? Looking to buy one but the wife is wary after a friend had problems with her car.
  20. I'm looking to buy a diesel Fabia (or Scout) Estate or a Rapid sportsback. Preferably a 1.4 or 1.6 (1.9?) Tdi but, with ULEZ it needs to be a Euro 6 engine. Any thoughts on which is the better car and is there any way of finding which standard the engines are? The only source I can find demands specific registration numbers.
  21. In my owners manual it recommends getting the dealership to switch the lights from left to right hand drive. As far as I can see they are conventional bulbs, so they do not switch automatically (Superb III SE Business). I queried this a while ago and there was a lot of discussion but nobody was able to say what the dealership does to switch the lights. I am not kean on sticking reflectors to the plastic lenses. Does anyone know what work is required?
  22. About three quarters of the way. I could see water stains going about half way up the front edge (the front edge of the window seal has shrunk away). Hardest part was getting the right size bit on the 20 torq screw and prizing the door card off. Otherwise an easy job. Tested and all is dry today!
  23. Thank you. Job done (I hope!). Due to the lockdown I had to use window & door sealer mastic which should do the job. Rather than seal around I released the inner door plate and squirted it over the seal as well as around, and then smoothed it when it had been retightened. Most of the plugs came off the door card. Fortunately they did not break enough to need replacing.
  24. We have had the problem a while. Checking today the water is passing the window seal quite easily and draining into the door. The holes at the bottom let the water out quickly but it is also going down the inner moulding and going into the interior. Will replacing the exterior seal cure the problem or will there be further work to do inside the door?
