  1. I often wonder about the Telematics built in to the Platform, can Skoda not just tell the police where it is? If you subscribe to the online services the app can pinpoint the car and you can set geographic alerts if it goes out of an area.
  2. I think that is only try on the Estate Version, I'm not aware of that on a Hatch - certainly my 17 Plate vRS Hatch doesn't have one.
  3. Definitely, which reminds me I need 4 new tyres - mind the OEM set has done 20K now so they have lasted well. Stage 1 would be fun and the 245 has the VAQ Diff as well, which is the only thing that my 230FL could do with.
  4. I don't know how similar it is in basic block design but the 20V 1.8T that I had in my old Mark IV Golf GTi - was prone to issues with the oil pickup pipe in the sump clogging with in-frequent oil changes - I always changed the oil and filter every six months on that car - easy to do.
  5. We bought one last August as a shared 3rd car for fun in the Sun. A bit tight for me in the passenger seat (6'1" tall) but great fun to drive, not too much power 168PS RWD, LSD and a very fruity exhaust note - we love it - on a run it will do 44MPG - much nicer looking than the MX5 it is based on and not too many of them on the road. That is the dealer where ours came from Nick is a good bloke.
  6. Found that one out Sunday Evening, the rear washer jet was playing up and on observing the rear wash my wife pointed out that it was leaking out around the number plate light / camera area. So this idiot spent just over an hour removing the boot trim to find no leak inside the trim - to only discover when I asked her to sit in and press the stalk forward, that the Camera has its own washer jet - DOH. I've only owned it 3.5 years and never noticed before, I just though the camera stayed clean as it was mounted nice and high (not low down like the one on our Mini Clubman that is always dirty) - to be fair I don't often use the rear bidet.
  7. Hi Folks - has anyone got access to the TPI with regards to Moisture in the LED Headlights? I haven't seen it myself and although I could pay for an hour on erWin - I'm loathed to not knowing if it will give me access to it. I've got excessive moisture in one of my headlights again (warranty replaced in June 2019) so need to chat with my dealer / Skoda as didn't extend the warranty. Thanks Regards Paul
  8. My Mark 3 F/L has a serious issue again and this is with a replacement headlight (replaced June 2019) I don't get this whole it's normal with LED lights our other two cars (2017 Mini Clubman Cooper S & 2018 Abarth 124 Spider) both have factory fit LED headlamps and neither exhibit any issues with condensation and they are kept in the same location - so if BMW Mini and Fiat can design an LED headlight which doesn't have this feature - why can't Skoda?
  9. I was surprised to see this one back again - took mine for a good (necessary) drive last week and opened it up on the M3 when you come out of the 50MPH restriction (M27 split) and it steamed away like a crazy again - smoke (well steam) screen time. Must do it more often as there is obviously a lot of water that sits in there from short journeys and that is all that it is getting at the moment.
  10. Sad to say that the nearside one on my vRS which was replaced under warranty (both have been replaced under warranty) is now showing the issue again, car is now out of warranty by almost a year and this starts again. Disappointed that this is an issue again, both of our other cars have LED headlights without any issues (2017 BMW Mini Cooper S Clubman and 2018 Abarth 124 Spider) if they can both design a headlight that is LED and can cope with the UK weather why can't the Skoda? Does anyone have access to the TPI that was issued for this issue? Also does anyone have access to a parts catalogue to see if they have every released a newer revision of LED Headlamp? TA Paul
  11. That is poor - if BMW Mini and Fiat Abarth can have a headlamp design that doesn't exhibit such issues I can't see why Skoda can't manage it. I had water staining in both of the original FL Headlamps the replacements have issues still, but (touches wood) they aren't showing any water staining so far.
  12. How are the LED lights, I've had both replaced under warranty on my FL Mark 3 and they still have condensation in them when it is damp / cold or you wash the car. Did they get those designed right on the Mark IV? Both our other cars have LED lights (2017 Mini Clubman Cooper S, Abarth 124 Spider) and do not exhibit any issues with condensation under the same conditions as the Octavia.
  13. He was wrong - the system needs to know that it has had a new battery so that the power monitoring and charging logic re-calibrate to a brand new battery.
  14. The sound generator needs it's own mute switch it would be a laugh every now and then but I'd soon get bored of it. Has anyone tried one with DCC yet? The Golf 8 has full slider control of the DCC in individual mode.
  15. Seems I may have the same issue on my vRS. So will check the side of the hatch first and then looks like I might be taking the spoiler off and re-sealing it.
