  1. I should also mention my car already has a Columbus 8" with Canton and MIB2 amp.
  2. Hi All, I've been looking into this retro fit and managed to pickup the screen (3V0919606D) quite cheaply. I plugged it in, and I wasn't surprised that it didn't work. Got a version error from my 5F module (3V0035045B). Now, my questions are these: Are all 5F module versions starting with 565035xxx suitable for this screen? From what I read on here, I believe it to be so. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these modules? 565035044A <-- No DAB. Has phone functionality? 565035044B 565035021B <-- has SIM which I'm interested in - Found in Karoq and Kodiaq so im guessing this is newer. I know there are people on here who have retro fitted the new shiny screen to older models, any chance you can help me out with which one I need please? I'll probably need someone to perform the CP coding to the car remotely (I'm in Australia) if anyone can recommend a company who they have used before. Thank you.
  3. unless you disable the switch permanently, the car doesn't know you have the bike rack on the car. unless there is something attached to the lights plug, the button will work. you can disable the switch with trailer attached (with VCDS) but youll need a dummy plug to put in the 13 pin socket.
  4. that diff will transform the car, especially on the track. the key is to let the car drive itself out of turns, it will straighten it self up when you stomp on the throttle. there will be a balance between understeer and the actual direction you want to travel, however my FWD with mechanical diff has no aids, I'm not sure how much interaction the active stability has. I remember on my mk2 vRS, it would reel me in when the car felt like it was about to go sideways and brake that inside wheel a little. removing all aids via programming will make it a more interesting drive
  5. turn the car ignition on, but don't start the engine. put mirror switch into L position. put car into reverse, set mirror position to dipped position. take car out of reverse and turn off ignition. I think that's the process to set the dipped position.
  6. Had no problems towing over 1200km last weekend (280HP with stage 1 tune - 420NM and 350HP). Only bad thing is I think due to the shape of the sedan/hatch, the air passes over the Superb and hits the flat front of the Abarth causing some big drag. Boot had probably 120-150kg of weight in it (too much, next time ill load some in the trailered car) and the trailer and car is around 1300kg.
  7. AUDI TTRS 370mm 4 spot Brembo easily the best mod I did on my mk2
  8. it does work very well! I notice sometimes during the day if the sun is at the wrong angle into the camera, the HBA turns off with some weird error telling me to clean the windscreen.
  9. let me know how you go with this, AFAIK no aussie model has the whiskers in their headlights...........
  10. I don't mean the camera button, I mean the button for park pilot, the function that parks the car itself. when I press that with my trailer attached, I get the trailer assist wizard, but it completes straight away. I believe there is a missing message, or my camera is not the correct model.
  11. you need to have the trailer attached for parking assist to work. once you are in reverse, hit the PLA button and see what happens.
  12. I haven't tried this, however this is from another forum: STG 10 > Byte 00 > enable Bit 3 STG 17 > Byte 12 > enable Bit 5 STG 6C > Byte 10 > enable Bit 3 STG 5F > Adaption > … > channel "Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_trailer_assistant_after_disclaimer" > set to "enabled" > channel "Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_trailer_assistant_over_threshold_high" > set to "enabled" > channel "Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-Trailer_Assistant_0x36" > set to "enabled" > channel "Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-Trailer_Assistant_msg_bus_0x36" > set to "Klemme 15"
  13. you change the throttle response in the 01 Engine module, in long coding. Where in Australia are you, I might be able to help? if you go on https://www.facebook.com/groups/AuSkoda/ theres plenty of info and questions answered for local models.
  14. I towed for the first time with my MK3 280HP after towing quite a bit with a modified MK2 Octavia RS. Well, I can say the Superb handled it..... superbly. I tow 1300kg (car on trailer). Around town the superb picked up to speed better, I put that down to the additional torque and grip. going up and down inclines (especially up my driveway) the AWD prevented wheel spin just dragged the whole lot up. On the highway (100km/h) it purred and I overtook other cars no problems, no movement but I found the ride was much better after putting the suspension into Sport mode to firm it up. Less comfy on the long ride, but less bouncy movement coming from the trailer - perhaps I need to move the car back a little for less ball weight? Anyway, thought id add my 2c. I'm thoroughly happy with the way it towed except for one small point. I use a electric brake controller as the trailer has electric brakes (I'm in Australia) and the brake lights stay on for around 0.5 a second after taking my foot off the brake. being DSG, its already taking off as I remove my foot from the brake pedal but as the trailer brakes are triggered from the lights, the car attempts to take off while the trailer is still braking. annoying, but I may need to find another trigger for the controller. turning down the braking force helped, but that doesn't help actually stopping it all.
