2016 Fabia estate 1.4tdi front wipers
Hmmm, I might take out the BCM and open it up and have a look at the relay see if that gives anything up. If the power went into it but the relay was toast and constant 'open circuit' would it not give that fault? I'm only guessing as electrics aren't really my strong point, I know basics but đ

Right, after a struggle, I've managed to test that pin and I do get 12v from it. So there is power going in.

Thanks for your help so far, I'm gonna leave that till tomorrow now as contorting myself under the dash wasn't a pleasant experience.

2016 Fabia estate 1.4tdi front wipers
Bloody Hell!!! Access is virtually non-exsistant (well for me anyway at 6'5 & 18st) I managed to unclip the BCM from its housing but there isn't enough wiggle room to pull it down without disconnecting the black plug. Is the red arrowed wire the one you mean and if I test it unplugged cause I can't get around the back of it whilst it is plugged in, would cause me more probs or not please?

2016 Fabia estate 1.4tdi front wipers
Sorry Breezy Pete, I'm used to Land Rover diagnostics (having had 3 in the past) and not really delved into the Skoda, is the BCM the one under the drivers side behind the fuse box & can you get to it easy enough to test, having 3 herniated discs I'm struggling getting in tight spaces đ

I did check that as a easy go to fix but it seemed fine, I'll have another look & swap it for another one

I managed to plug it in today to read any codes and got this back...... Is this likely to be the relay that's at fault, the one that's soldered into the BCM????

2016 Fabia estate 1.4tdi front wipers
Hello, I'm looking for a bit of inspiration for the problem with the front wipers on my misses fabia. I went to work in it the other day it was fine no probs wipers worked. Then yesterday wifey used it and no wipers?!? Of course she blames me đ but I dunno why they won't work? If you activate the stalk for 1 swipe, intermittent, speed 1 or 2 nothing happens, not front wash either. Back wiper works fine? I've checked the fuses all ok and am gonna be looking at the motor tomorrow, is there anything else I should look at???

Air-Conditioning problem
Hi all, I've got a 22 plate Octavia 1.5 SEL Estate which I'm having problems with the Air-con. I started last week when I kept hearing a hissing sound coming from I think behind the dashboard. It was rather quiet at first so I kind of forgot about it and couldn't really hear it much as it kept coming & going away. This carried on for about 4 days and then suddenly started to get louder and louder kind of sounding like a gas main type hissing. I then tried to investigate it thinking I've got some kind of air-con leak, the air-con itself wasn't as cool as it usually was so I then inspected the condenser - no obvious leaks, looks still brand new, the compressor clicks in & out when you turn the ac on & off but still I get this noise. I then stuck my head down into where the pedals are up under the dash & the sound got louder as if its coming from somewhere behind the dash???? I was thinking I'd got a leak somewhere but I'm now not convinced as its been 'hissing' for over a week now and surely all the refrigerant would have gone before now as the air-con is always on???? Anyone any ideas at all?????

Well it went in on Tuesday for the software fixes and........dare I say it, I've drove since then with no errors đ¤Ģ a mixture of motorway and town drives, which always produced a error but nothing! No changes to the versions shown in the settings but summat happened.

Do you feel mis sold on your mk4
Well, picked it up late yesterday afternoon & been out in it twice since, then a long blast down the motorway today and........dare I say it? It seems to be behaving! ( I'm gonna regret saying that!) đđ

Oh well, today's the day! Dropped off at 8.30. Grumpy service manager asked if the fault was showing now? (Which it wasnt) she said because my car was brand new it had missed the update? To which I replied 'How can that be when it was only released last week'. I don't hold out much hope!đ

Adaptive Cruise Control bug
Mine is in for the software update tomorrow, I was told about it 2 weeks ago but tomz is the 1st available date for me. Here's hoping it will work, although I won't hold my breath!!!! My bloody car decided to ring the SOS number the other day no matter what I did it wouldn't cancel the call, I was greeted by '999 which service do you require!' đĄ

Yes - Had my 22 plate Octavia estate 3 weeks and the SOS drama has raised its head! Every trip now I get the 2 loud clunks from the unit above ya head, 3 phone calls to the dealer who promised 3 times to call me back and didn't till today when I lost my rag and told em what I thought of em . Apparently for anyone who has the SOS fault, there is a new release out at the end of the month, mine is now booked in for it on the 3rd of May.

Well, a bit of progress today (after I had a rant at someone for NOT ringing me back for the third time of being promised that someone would!!!) The service manager has just rang me to tell me that the fault with the SOS system has not been fixed by the software upgrade that was released in the past (I told them about the release in June 21 that was posted on here). Apparently "SKODA" technical boffins had said that the recall that was done then has not fixed all cases and that another software upgrade that is being worked on now is due to be released the back end of this month which I will be able to book mine in for the on the 3rd May. They'll need the car for the whole day as its a lengthy update......Watch this space!!! I then asked why they were still selling brand new vehicles with a known fault with them for which she squirmed ummed and arrred and couldn't give me an answer for. She tried saying it was a relatively new fault??? To which I laughed at and said 'What?! There are cases going back to 2018 that I can see just looking at the web. Oh well, just have to put up with it for a week or so till the supposed fix

Surely it shouldn't STILL be happening though on the new cars??? đ (Sorry I should know better before I said that đ) I've just read that its been affecting them since 2018, thought they'd have sorted it by now?

I've recently bought an Octavia within the last month, and this nonsense with the 2 popping noises SOS & yellow warning triangle appearing, it sends the infotainment system haywire and then tries to restart. Funny thing is that when I get home or where I'm going, I turn the ignition of lock the car, come back to it and it resets itself and the warning message is gone???? Rang my Skoda dealer twice about it now and been promised someone will recontact me from the service department.............I'm still bloody waiting! đ đĄ The last person I spoke to said "If the fault clears itself there's nothing we can do because it won't show up on our diagnostic system" ????? Not impressed to say the least âšī¸
