Rear Washer Pipe Connector - help?
craig_macready replied to craig_macready's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I was hoping you weren't going to say that... the thought of removing more trim to do this isn't exactly appealing... -
I've had the classic problem with the spinning rear washer jet on my Fabia... Quick search on here, phone call to my local VW dealer, a few days later, and the repair kit solved the problem - can recommend it, it's fairly straightforward to do. However... in my clumsiness, when I disconnected the washer pipe from the back of the motor to fit the repair kit, I cracked the plastic connector, so that when I refitted it I had a nice spray of washer fluid into the boot. New plastic connector ordered, and here - but how the hell do you fit the pipe on to the connector? I've tried warming the pipe and connector, but it won't go. I'm loathe to try any lubricants as such in case they either a) block the piping or attack the piping. Any thoughts? The only thing I could come up with is that my Fabia almost 9 years old and that the washer piping may have deteriorated somehow? Although there's no visible problems... I now have a non-spinning washer jet, but a pipe I can't connect to it :(

Having just seen the above... my catch has also broken... does anyone know if you can still get the glovebox door/lid in the old light grey trim colour, for a May 2000 Fabia Comfort??

I've no problems with replacing one single louvre - took one out to take to the dealer, so I know I can pop them in and out with no damage... The leather kn0b I have has no gaitor attached currently - I broke the last one trying to remove it from the old gear kn0b!! Cheers for the ebay link Stu - will look at that.

Odd - when I got my car (with the heater "on" setting at the top of the switch) I had to have a part replaced as the element had burnt out. My dealer told me not to switch it on unless needed as it would burn the element out. I have got one of the early build Fabias, however...

Hi all I'm looking for a leather gaitor for my Fabia, and also one individual louvre for my centre vents... I've tried my local dealer but they tell me the parts are not available individually and I have to buy a whole new vent unit and a gear **** with gaitor... Has any one got any ideas how I can best source these? Or, indeed, has anyone got either of these parts lying around they'd be prepared to part with for a suitable price...?? Cheers Craig

Key/Immobiliser Codes
craig_macready replied to craig_macready's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Situation is this - I have another key being prepared for me that will need coding to the immobiliser (not bought the key through a dealer) - and I have realised I don't have the code to do the job... How do I access the back of the immobiliser to get this code?? -
Key/Immobiliser Codes

Yikes... getting the code sounds like a lot of work!! Would the dealer not just be able to look something up for me if I gave them a call? Don't really want to have to drive there as I live in Sutton Coldfield now, and the dealer was Jewsons in Oxford... -
I got my Fabia 2nd hand, and didn't get the little plastic strip with the key numbers on - but looking in the service schedule book there is a sticker with a 4 digit pin and what looks like a 14 digit alphanumeric serial number but no information to tell me what it is - does this sound like the info that would have been on the key tab for getting new keys, immobiliser emergency code etc??

Anyone know if the little plastic bit that surrounds the door lock button is a) available as a spare part and easy to fit? Its the one with the LED in to indicate deadlocks activated, etc I have a cracked one on the drivers door and its been annoying me for the last two years so I thought I'd replace it!! Though, thinking about it, going chrome might be nice if its available.... though that means replacing them all! Anyone done this? Is it an easy job that doesn't involve taking the door to pieces?! Thanks

I let them drive it!! Even my dad raised his eyebrows when I bought my Fabia 1.9SDi a couple of years back and ribbed me something rotten about my "joke of a Skoda". I loaned it to him last July while his Vauxhall Meriva was being serviced. Strangely, he ordered a Fabia Elegance TDi estate about four weeks later...

Thanks for the posts - I'm in the Birmingham/Sutton Coldfield area if anyone close by has VAG-COM... Failing that it'll be a trip to Autosales in Cannock next week when I'm off work.

Just joined today - and already grabbed LOADS of useful info for my Fabia... Can anyone advise me how much I might be looking at to get a dealer to sort out this apparently common problem with the heating system allowing you hot, hot or hot temperature settings? Sadly vehicle now out of warranty. Also, any ideas on the cost of a replacement vent for the front console? I broke one of the vanes when fitting a mobile phone holder Have found instructions for replacement, but nothing about cost...
