  1. Thanks for that silver1011. Roof drains clear and attached. Sealed roof to take it out of equation so to speak. Washed car with hose (NOT roof), but played into scuttle. Water was exiting under car to the rear of the wheel arch i.e. not from behind wheel arch liner. However will take liner off again and have another look. Carpet damp, rather than wet. Appreciate your comments. 👍
  2. Merry Christmas to all on here! Can anyone tell me exactly where the outer scuttle vents exit, i.e. is it behind the wheel arch plastic shroud, or elsewhere. I don’t really want to disturb the black plastic scuttle panel in front of the windscreen (through which the wiper stubs emerge), as it would appear this is sealed to the screen? Reason for question - whilst car was dried out after my sunroof problems (and I have temporarily sealed the roof with clear Gorilla tape), there is still water entering, in that the passenger side carpets, front and rear are damp. Thoughts are that if the LHS scuttle drain is impeded, water could back up and maybe enter via the pollen filter. Any ideas/advice please.TIA.
  3. Yes, they are so much fun. Everything you actually need. The very first ‘people movers’ in fact.
  4. Taking full responsibility for starting the drift off post guys....... To appreciate all that is modern, as the Yeti still is, even more - you need an hour or so in Mollie Mulliner. Three speed crash gearbox, foot brakes on two wheels (hand brake on the other two)..... Driven eighty miles the other Sunday, it’s all about the journey, not the destination!
  5. Haha Colin! Not sure this counts, but agree a lovely motor. Worth slightly more than you paid for it......
  6. Well, this is Iris. Heritage shell, so folding roof frame.
  7. Hi muddyjim. Yes, believe LLanigraham has a Midget also. So yours will be a 1098cc like mine?
  8. RickW - liking the a40 mk1! Wonder how many more of us on here are into Classics?
  9. Hi Colin. Agree with all you have said. We would have another tomorrow (without a sunroof though!). Ours has 55k on the clock, and regularly serviced am sure would be good for four times that.
  10. You may have read elsewhere on here, that at present we have issues ( haha!) with water ingress, from the sunroof on our Yeti. We WILL overcome these issues. Still the best all rounder, both for anything local, and our frequent journeys to Inverness (450 miles). We both love driving it so much, and the DSG box is great. The sunroof is the only issue we have had in 55k happy miles.
  11. Thank you studbod and LLanigraham for your helpful comments. Expecting tape delivery tomorrow or Thursday - and will try on another area of the car first, and advise. With the current weather, the Yeti hasn’t moved out of the garage (obviously!), and after removing 4litres of water so far, I dare not risk it! Interesting comment re rear drains, as I have not inspected these. The front drains were attached, and clear. Maybe I need to check the rears as well .......So far have resisted taking the headlining down, even though fully realise the problem may be easier to see without it present. Still considering checking the front outer scuttle drains (behind the inner plastic wheel arches), as blocking here wouldn’t help no doubt - wonder if anyone else has done this? llanigraham - comments understood re frame joint leak. Sounds quite a carry on with the Capt. Tolley’s (I’ve acquired a tube though). BTW - Yeti has temporarily evicted Iris Sprite, who has taken sanctuary living with an MGB in next doors garage!
  12. Ordered some clear Gorilla tape last night widdershins - great minds etc!
