Oil top up
Thanks. Is there any way to confirm it definitely came with 0W20? All I want is to top up with the same!

Oil top up
opieoils seems to suggest 5W30 504/507 🤷🏻♂️

Oil top up
Thanks very much. Any idea what quantity I’ll need to get it topped back up? Will 1ltr more than cover it?

Oil top up
Apologies, this probably gets asked all the time but I couldn’t immediately see a comparable post. My MY20 Superb 2.0 150 TDI needs the oil topping up. It’s on variable servicing and done 12.5k miles. Do I need 5W-30 for VW 504/507? Is Castrol Edge fine for this - just to keen to pick some up today. thanks

Superb - approaching first service
I didn't ask them to change it and I'm slightly uneducated on this. If it's set to variable does that mean I just wait for it to tell me it needs servicing?

Superb - approaching first service
Thanks - simply for ease if there is a problem to be dealt with under warranty?

Superb - approaching first service
Hi all I am the owner of a 70 plate Sportline estate, 150 diesel. I've done about 8,500 miles so approaching the first service at 10,000 I believe? My dilemma is whether to go to my local ish independent Skoda specialist from the outset, or use dealer for servicing. This is the first vehicle I've owned from new. My intention at this stage is to keep the car for 4-5 years and expect my mileage to get up to around 18k/year, although the first year is probably going to be more like 12k due to plenty of WFH. I lean towards indy from the outset but I would appreciate any helpful comments in respect of cost savings indy vs dealer, impact on future re-sale value, plus any other considerations? I'm working on the assumption warranty and electronic service record will be unaffected either way? Many thanks

Superb Estate tow bar required
Hi all Does anyone have any pointers regarding getting an aftermarket detachable tow bar fitted for a MY20 Superb Sportline Estate? I need 7 pin single electrics. PF Jones appeared to quote £653 inc for a Westfalia with mobile fitting, Towsure £628 for their offering fitted. Any recommendations for other suppliers to try? Mobile fitting is easiest but happy to take it to a workshop if the price justifies it. thanks

Heated washer nozzles
Sounds very familiar. I’ve not had the car long but I seem to have noticed so far that whilst the temperature is below zero then the screen wash doesn’t flow properly despite the engine being fully warmed up. Like you I will need to use much stronger ratio of concentrate and drop my old habits of diluting it that used to be fine with my previous vehicle.

Heated washer nozzles
Does anyone know if the heated washer nozzles feel warm to the touch when operational? I can't get any indication they are working in freezing conditions and don't feel at all warm after a journey. thanks

Anyone use a bumper protector on a Mk3 Estate? (and/or boot liner)
I bought a 1m x 15cm strip of this adhesive film and cut it to shape to protect my bumper from the dog jumping in and out. Cost about a fiver. Worth taking the time to cut it to the right shape before you apply it, and I applied it with a soapy water mix and then pressed all the liquid out once I'd positioned it. Barely noticeable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Paint-Protection-Film-PPF-Vinyl-Car-Bike-Frame-Helicopter-Tape-Clear-or-Matte/324423177891?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=513487662702&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Also got one of these liners off ebay - it was one of the cheaper options but the fit is fine and it does the job. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tailored-Fit-Black-Boot-Liner-Tray-Car-Rear-Floor-Mat-for-Skoda-Superb-2015-on/303564601653?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Columbus/update queries
Thanks. So internet radio largely useless unless you're prepared to connect to hotspot each time? If I put that map download on a USB and then go to Update Software, will it give me the option to load from USB if it detects the map? Currently I just get a blank screen when I press Update Software.

Columbus/update queries
Took delivery of my Superb a few weeks ago and have a few queries regarding the Columbus system. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I've tried searching but couldn't resolve my issues. Updates - My system information shows the nav version being 20.11 as per the attached pic (which isn't for example ECE 2019/20?). If I enter the VIN in the update portal I can download ECE 2020/2021 which is a zip file called OI_P41_EU_202025_Offline_Update. I have tried putting this on a USB and putting it in the car but when I click Update Software I just get a blank screen. I don't see an option to update from the USB stick. Any ideas? If I connect the system to a wifi hotspot on my phone I also cannot see any updates. Accessing internet services - If I want to access internet radio for example, is the only way to do it to disconnect CarPlay and connect to a hotspot? If I am connected via CarPlay does the nav system have access to live traffic etc? thanks in advance.
