Hi guys, 2009 1.9tdi octavia estate. Ok, I'm going to upgrade the 16 inch alloys to the 18 inch black neptunes at end of this month (been saving!) I'm assured this is just a straight swap? Jack her up take old alloys off and put neptunes on. No problem?? Any tyre recommendations please? I'm also going to lower her a wee bit. I'm not after any performance upgrade at all. I just want it to sit nice on the new neptunes. New springs? (Eibech??) and shall I just get standard bushes as well while I'm doing it? Not sure when or if they have ever been replaced, car on 70000 miles. Is there anything else I should Defo get while I'm doing this? Guys, many many thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I have the estate octy and recently got the rears tinted. She looks awesome, and so far no problems. My 1st skoda and I love it. I just noticed in another thread, and did not want to hijack it, but a fella got a new estate vrs, and said he had dogs so the estate would be perfect. Then a bit further down someone asked was he going to tint the rears? Well I have 2 dogs, and I am scared to put them in the boot now invade they scratch the tint? The looks great, really really great with the tints, but as soon as I done it i have cleaned her almost every day and even begrudge letting the missus in the passenger seat!! I think I would go mad if the dogs jumped up at cat or something and scratched the tint.... It would ruin the whole car. So, does the tints scratch easy by dog paw? Am I being too anal? I'm considering just taking the tints out now if it can be done so I just get back to using the car as the workhorse it was bought for!!? Thoughts?

USELESS: repeat: USELESS. If you use these fools you need your head tested. I rang these jokers 2 months ago as I was looking an octavia estate. I was looking for a low mileage white or blue diesel estate. I said I had 10grand cash here, what did they have? I said I was flexible on the money, I would go up or down, money would not be a deal breaker for a few quid. Sales man said we have no estates in stock at mo, I said no bother, can you do a search, whatever you do, and take my number and ring me if anything comes in that fits my criteria. He said yes, he would take all my details and I would get 1st dibs on the cars that match my requirements that come his way. I wanted the security of spending so much on a car that it had to be from a good main dealer and obviously get there warranty. No phone calls for a month, then driving past there showroom I spot the exact car I want on the forecourt. I ring them when I get to work, and low and behold they don't have my details on computer??? Who was I talking to before sir?.... That car had been there for 1 week, DO THEY WANNA SELL CARS FOR CASH? I rung Lisburn sere amongst other dealers and registered my interest in the same criteria as above and low and behold they rung me withen a week, they had located a car to my spec in MANCHESTER!! They had it serviced cleaned checked and shipped over on my drive in 2 weeks. I could not be happier. The only thing I noticed was the running lights were not yet activated. Silly me, because they are closer, I rung Merv in Belfast, can I get running lights switched on? Yes sir, name address and phone number.. We will ring you back sir.. That was 3 weeks ago... Still waiting. SO DO THESE JOKERS WANT TO SELL CARS FOR CASH OR EVEN FIX CARS??? Go there at your peril

Hi mate, just got mine done by 'a national company'! Indoor dust free job, very professional, took 2hours on my octavia estate, all the rear done cost 160. Worth every penny. Didn't go too dark, can't remember off top of my head, but think it was 30% tint film? In some lights you can just see through it, in some light it's total black out! Go for it.

This is my first skoda, and never since driving from 92 have I had a car long enough or needed to ever change a clutch and flywheel, had conpany cars and old bangors only so although not so green to cars but Defo green when it comes to skodas and flywheels!! Appreciate your advice, would not have a clue about how to detect a flywheel problem. Many thanks.

Hi guys, I'm running an 09 octavia estate 1.9pd se, just bought it second hand with 70000 miles on her. Looking at the service history it alls looks great, just had timing belt changed and to be honest the car is running great. My question is this as everywhere I look its clutch and flywheel failure, dual mass for single etc etc. So would I have had the clutch and flywheel already replaced and it just not wrote down on service record? How would I know if the clutch and flywheel had been changed? Is there any tell tell signs? And if not already been done when should I expect it to go or get it done? Like should I just get it done next year when she will be on 80k miles and in for her service? Long winded post so apologies in advance!

Hi guys, newbie here. Awesome group! Ok I'm looking some advise please? Just got a candy white octavia estate diesel. 1.9 year 09. I love the car, looks awesome, but it is let down by the alloys. I'm looking to upgrade to some black neptunes, and maybe lower the suspension. Sooo will the neptunes fit? And do you recommend lowering and what with? I don't wanna go mental low, I just want it to sit right. Thanks guys.
