  1. The whole thing needs prepping and painting, the "crack" is a heat stress mark where the bumper has been heated and pulled to match the shape of the light better, this has been done on both sides. The bunker has just been trimmed and heated into shape, the buyer needs to do everything else to make it ready.
  2. You can but its crap, just makes it like a satin finish really
  3. You can polish wrap yes. If your lacquer is lifting, you will struggle to find a company willing to wrap over lifting paint, I wouldn't, you're best bet would be plasti duo, but it's really only available in Matt and you can match colour.
  4. Hi guys, I'm not selling the grills deprecate. Yes it will need drl's, fits in the same place as the original, needs prepping and painting obviously, and you would need the facelift grill for it to be right.
  5. I bought this to retro fit to my mk2 octavia vrs, but I never finished it, it's been trimmed and heated into shape, but will obviously require finishing, prep and paint. It does come with the rear support sections and brand new genuin Skoda lower grills and tow eye covers. You will need to source drls Price is £150 located in Liversedge West Yorkshire 07703 857247
  6. so the octavia is for sale as I've bought a new car. 07 TDI VRS, 126000 mile car, but has a brand new engine and turbo, gen reason, with documents to prove, new engine is on approx 25000 miles. Recent service. Full MOT, 11 months New brembo disc and pads all round magnex system and dpf delete with remap, 220bhp approx Coilovers (need attention) Tvr spiders with good Dunlop tyres 6mm all round. (Some minor marks) Honey comb grills, and new badges Mk3 tt gear shift Ally pedals Full 2015 vrs interior (with wing backs) Car is red but currently wrapped green aluminium. Spare key Service history and usual spec, central locking, elec Windows etc etc Does not have cruise or satnav. Or the 6 disc changer. The car has a couple of bad bits, but there easily sorted. The coilovers were a temp measure to get my car out of the unit and through the MOT after the sale of the airride and thus arnt great, could do to be replaced with top mounts, the car drives fine on them but the front Spring clunks on full lock. This is More of a need to know thing really. Rear seats don't fold as the 2015 trim has a deeper upper section than the originals, it could be rectified by swapping the 2015 covers to an original set of rear seats, they often come up on eBay. There is an oil leak on the engine, that I can't seem to find, so does loose a small amount of oil. He body work. The wrap has been fitted for over a year now and as such has some age related wear, it's my daily work horse so is to be expected. the car can be rewrapped at extra cost in any colour you likely rewrapped, but, while the body is in good condition with no rust, it has a couple of car park dings that were filled before the wrap in the lower passanger side door, the car had some stone chipping to the front (bumper/bonnet/wings and that was flatted back before wrap, and the front left wing was damaged and pulled/filled too. So if you decide to remove the wrap it's going to need some paint, no question. Oh and it needs a headlight bulb ffs lol Basically, the car is fantastic, runs sweet, is quick, economical and has NEVER let me down in 3 years or ownership, ive simply never really connected with it as much as I tried to and I lost the love for it! It just needs a little tlc and some time, and someone will have a great car! I have traveled everywhere in this, and it just flys alone eating the miles and still gives me 45-50mpg. The car can be tax'd and insured and driven away, no problems, I'm just trying to be as honest as I can. The price is £2250. It has to go and at that price you could have a brand new set of coilovers and top mounts and have the paint sorted, and still have a great car for 3k, and I've even seen standard vrs suspension being given away for free on here! Contact Jon 07703 857247 Car is located in wf17 west yorkshire Please don't ask me for parts, I'm not breaking it, I don't have the time.
  7. It's needs to be done properly in order for it not t be seen. Just done the same section on my R36 I charge £50 for this.
  8. PPF, exactly what its made for! i fit this daily!
  9. Im going to add, wrapping isn't easy, for those of you saying it is, you've probably only wrapped your stereo surround, try a front bumper and then give us a review lol if your thinking of trying it your self, spend money on good material, the stuff you can get cheap, I can guarantee will be ****, you should expect to pay around £25/£30 per metre, make sure it's a cast film, 1520mm wide, not a Calender film, 1220 wide, in fact, anything 1220 wide is not right, it will be a sign writing film, not a wrapping film, will not stretch and will be impossible to fit, even with 10 people. Good luck.
  10. Your talking about 3 different things here Plasti dip or car dip is a vulcanising rubberised spray that is applied in many thin layers (approx 10-15) once dried is can be removed, but it is very soft and prone to damage, it's cant be touched in, so damage means it's needs to be re done, application wise it requires just as much preparation as actually spraying the car! Hydro dip is a way of applying pre printed art work and graphics to pretty much anything! It's done by laying the chosen film on top of a huge vat of water, the film is then sprayed with an activator, and once ready, the chosen the item, wheel, grill, stereo surround, engine cover, anything really, is pushed through the film into the water, this allowing the film to bend and manipulate over any complex piece, obviously this isn't an option for large areas like a roof as you can't dunk the car into a tank of water. And then vinyl wrapping, obviously this is done applying a thin vinyl film over the painted surface, as said above, it will benefit you go to your local companies and check out their work in person, online reviews will never gove you the full picture. Look out for how the corners are finished, and how the material is trimmed, NOONE SHOULD BE CUTTING ON THE PAINT! 3m doesn't make the best film, so don't be sucked in to big prices because the say they use 3m. Those prices sound about right, I charge £120 plus vat for a car that size. Edit, there's no risk to paint damage unless A, they cut into the paint or score the lacquer, this leaving a weak edge, meaning when you come to remove the film it will lift the lacquer where it's been scored/trimmed, Or B, smart repairs that the owner doesn't know about, for the same reason as above, except the lacquer goes from the point it was blown in. Vehicle wrapped for over 8 years now.
  11. If done right, wrapping will outlast the time MOST people keep their cars and vans, it's more durable, cheaper and easier to replace than replace than paint, and if the place that's doing it, does it right you'll get a finish as good a paint. Here's a couple pics of an rs7 I finished up last week. That started off white to satin black with branding But back to the op, I get your probably trying to save a little money, but as a guide, if you walked through my doors As a man in a van, and asked for for stickers making to take away, 1 front, 2 sides and a rear, I'd tell you £120 ish If you wanted them fitting I'd be at about £150/160 But also bear in mind, if you have somewhere do them for you, that's competent, all you have to do is drive the van there, they will wash and clean it properly, cut and make everything properly and apply it for you, not to mention you'll get a warranty? What if you mess it up fitting it your self? You'll be out of pocket even more or have a half decent job as opposed to a good looking van? Just my 2p But have a shop around locally, I guarantee there will be loads of small one man bands like me willing to do the work a little cheaper, I know of 3 sign places writhin 10 mins of my wrap shop. .
  12. It depends how you look at it, if he has to buy your vinyl in by the meter, set up your art work, plot it out, weed it, app tape it, package it, and post it out, then the cost start to add up, plus his time to do it, I've just done a van this evening, 2 sides and rear doors, about 10 words each side and same on the rear, I charged him £175. Maybe try a few local sign places close to you?
  13. If your vinyl is shrinking then it's not the correct vinyl being used.
  14. Don't buy the cheap **** off eBay, as soon as the car heats up it will fail, most of the stuff advertised on eBay is Callander film made for sign writing not wrapping, you need a good quality cast vinyl like 3m's 1080 or avery supreme, and you MUST reheat the vinyl to its required temperature to reset it's memory or it will never stay where you fit it, and for the price of it, just buy a squeegee too instead of using spoons. Use a heat gun, not a hair dryer, they blow too much and don't give out enough heat, you should be reheating vinyl to around 100 degrees, so a heat gun is needed, if people need any solid advice and not hear say give me a shout, I've been doing this a long time.
