Software failure not so Superb
Message posted by a Tiguan owner on tiguan3forums on November 4: "I had a call from my dealer on Friday morning saying my Tiguan was "all done and ready". So I collected in the afternoon. So far, and its early days I know, it has been ok. The service manager repeated the fact that the affected cars were only 3-5% of the total built ,and that this software upgrade had been provided specifically for Tiguans made during the period where the problems have occurred. And that mine had successfully been updated and that there should be no more issues.. Lets wait and see." Keep fingers crossed and hope everything will be soon ok for Superb owners too.

It looks like that CARIAD is to be blamed for all the group software problems. It seems that the goal of VW group to have its own OS is likely to fail. Porsche has already been looking for alternatives, such as Google.

I also wonder if VW Passat, built in the same plant as Superb under Skoda supervision, has been experiencing the same issues.

It would be interesting to find out if Skoda knows at least why some cars experience this software failure and others don't. What would be the cause behind it?

Cabin noise
Make sure the car has the acoustic package, including acoustic side windows with privacy glass and additional interior noise suppression. This feature could be standard or optional depending on trim or country. For sure the L&K trim has this package.

My dealer does not think it is a good idea driving... I don't quite understand the reasoning of your dealer. According to his logic, all Superb models should not be allowed on roads until this problem is solved. Furthermore, they should not be sold by local dealers. Does your local dealer act like this at the instruction of the factory? Let me doubt about it. On the other side, by "protective passenger assist" you mean Crew Protect Assist? As far as I know, this assistance feature reacts to different sensors than the airbags. In my opinion, it should be stupid to have the airbags safe operation connected to the software of the travel assist software. In Romania, where I'm from, the company importing Skoda cars is organizing this weekend, for all those interested, a drive test with new Skoda models: Superb, Kodiaq and Octavia facelift. I don't think they would have done this if such major safety problems had been at stake.
