Hi I can’t seem to find exactly what I’m looking for on here. My 04 Octavia has a whining noise when turning the wheel at low revs, the steering rack has been checked and the auxiliary built has been changed but the problem persists. I’m not sure if it’s the power steering pump that is creating the noise. I have took a video of the noise as I’m not sure how I would describe it if someone could help that would be great. Car is Skoda Octavia mk2 2l pd engine The skoda wont start without help, the original problem started while driving the engine over revved by itself and cut out on a motor at about 50 mph, afterwards the engine wouldn't turn over. The car will now start using some easy start spray and a jump start (battery has been dead as has been sitting) and will continue to start while still warmed up but wont turn over from a cold start. 1. Since starting it has over revved itself once for about 10 seconds but the engine didn't cut out. 2. it was also showing 3k rpm at idle which after a restart has settled back to normal 850-1k revs. 3. The dash is showing a yellow steering wheel, i believe to be a partial failure of power steering, but i have also read may be linked to the battery now being dead 4. not sure if its related but the rear parking sensors are not working and one start and placing in reverse gear sounds the warning 3 second tone Is there anything i can do for any/all of these problems? It has been suggested a change spark plugs but that means replacing cylinder head gasket which isnt something i want to do unless it is a last choice

I have replaced the window motor after it broke, once i finished the drivers side window panel no longer worked except to lock and unlock the drivers side door only. The boot central locking will unlock and lock all doors BUT the drivers side. After taking the battery off and back on now the window will work but nothing else still so i cant use any other window from that panel or lock any doors but the drivers side. I also noticed that the electric mirrors are no longer working. The locking also stands for using the key on the drivers side door, i also cant open or close all windows by holding the lock open. so basically on the window switch panel no central locking only drivers side only drivers side window no others and on the door generally no electric/heated mirrors no central locking with the key I tried using the same windows switch panel off another car which had the same problems in the car, also tried mine in theirs and it worked perfectly in there car. I have seen that what seems to be the obvious problem will maybe be the loom, but up until i replaced the broken window motor everything worked on that panel nothing was broken at all. I haven't yet tried the original motor back in the car going to do that now. is there anything else it could be? thanks
