No drilling, they just fit straight on! -

Funny you should bring that up; I've been trying to decide if it's got it or not - it was on the order but it's not very dark. Might have to speak to the Dealer! -

No, they are winters, fitted as soon as I took delivery. Pretty good in the snow/ice too! -

Better than it was though - you should see where we live! Only other option would be to move house... -
Ensurance - any thoughts?
Fatfudgecat replied to kalpat's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
My insurer (Aviva) have advised that if I were to claim, and use Ensurance, that I would have to pay an additional £200 for not using their approved repairer. That seems very silly to me! Skoda Insurance provided me with a quote when I collected my new car and it was very competitive. So, next May, I think I may just move the car insurance to Skoda. I have taken the Ensurance offer up, on both my cars, as I believe it is worth having. -
Has your car been mistaken for another make?

Would you believe I was having my cold weather tyres fitted and another customer at the tyre depot thought it was a Jaguar! -

Hi Parsey83,Just had mine fitted today by Dealer - went straight on without any problems. £110 fitted, parts were £74 I think, fitted the last fronts to my old MKII VRS but for the £36 simply didn't have the time/inclination to fit to my MKIII. They are pretty inconspicuous: -
Thanks for that, might have to get some help from my kids with that - sounds complicated!
-
Yes, thanks, it was done both times. Just keeping an eye on it now and will update this thread if the problem reappears.

Very interesting; I picked up my VRS Estate on Tuesday; Winter tyres fitted on Wednesday at 60 miles and since then have had a problem with the TPS twice - it showed 'Error Tyre Pressure System'. Checked all four tyres both times, no loss of pressure. Called at Dealer, very helpful but thought it might be a slow puncture as apparently the new system is more sensitive than the MKII. BUT, there was no mention of an individual tyre AND it did say 'Error' - might I have a problem?

Hi, picked up my VRS D Estate on Tuesday, getting 46MPG over first 200 miles, mainly country lanes/ city streets driving. Hoping this will improve over time, if I could see 50MPG I'd be reasonably happy!

Here we go, hope you like it - I have several pictures but can't upload them as Briskoda says that they are too big...not sure how to get around this problem. Rio Red VRS Estate with: Winter Pack Black Pack Colour Maxi Dot Cruise Control Variable Boot Floor Spare Wheel

Hi Spacenase, Very pleased indeed - it's quite subtle on the VRS but following the Rallye Green a bit of subtlety might not be a bad thing! It is a diesel estate with the Gemini alloys, sunset glass, and black pack (exterior options - there are also one or two interior ones) and I'll post some pictures after delivery, probably the following weekend. I'm picking it up on the 19th at 4:30PM...
-
Spacenase, How is your car? Mine arrived at the Dealers on Monday, I'm going for a look tomorrow morning - really hoping it's the right colour choice! Photos seem to vary wildly, depending on the position of the sun, so it's really difficult to see what the colour truly is.
-
Hi Spacenase, your build date is two weeks ahead of mine, you must be about to take delivery!
-
Thanks! Bit happier about the colour now - will post pictures once it's here!
-
Will keep my eyes peeled for you!
-
Thanks Mike, just hope I like the colour! Are you impressed with your car? What colour did you go for?
-
After becoming more and more concerned about Rio Red I went to see my dealer - I was literally considering cancelling my order until I was able to physically see an Octavia in my chosen colour. However, they suggested I allow the car to be built/delivered and, if I really don't like it, that they will keep the car and I can order another Pretty decent of them, I think. I know they'll be able to sell a VRS without too much hassle, and that my part exchange value will decrease, but I'm happy with that and no longer worried! And tonight I received an email from my dealer to say that the car is built, and at Emden awaiting shipping. Getting pretty excited now!

Thanks for the warm welcome all! Yellow would definitely be unique - I haven't seen any Octavia II's in that colour yet (other than pictures) - but very, very, brave. I bet in the sun it looks great though!
