  1. Same problem on my 2019 Karoq. Central locking has a mind of its own at the moment. I will be booking in with my local Skoda dealers asap.
  2. Same problem with my 2019 Karoq. I'll be booking in to get this sorted under my extended warranty. Its like the central locking has got a mind of its own! Checked the battery in key fob, new battery etc. Tried the spare key fob, same problem.
  3. 1.0 tsi surprised me in the Karoq. Have had one for 18 months after 170 tdi yeti. Of course it does not have the the torque of tdi but I find it perfectly adequate. Very quiet and refined, no bother on motorways. Yes, if you regularly have 2 + passengers and luggage and are 10k plus miles per year you may find it a little unsuitable, also dont forget the price difference between diesel and petrol. Best way fwd....have a test drive, you may be pleasantly surprised.
  4. Had a 170 tdi for a few years. Cold weather always slight increase in tickover. Never a problem. Loved my yeti and still miss it.
  5. I'm not expexting mpg to be quite as good as my diesel yeti, but I'm hoping it will be close. I plan to keep track of this and will monitor it with interest.
  6. Traded my Yeti this week. End of an era for me after 8 years of Yeti ownership. Yeti has been the best car I've ever owned. My driving needs have changed also, so no need for diesel and no need for 4x4. Now have a Karoq SE 1.0tsi. So far so good. Pleasantly surprised with the 1.0tsi 3cyl unit. I test drove the 1.5 also. For my needs, which is a lot of town and city driving now, I could not justify the 1.5tsi. Very pleased so far.
  7. Hi FlyingGecko, never any arguments on this forum....just learning and supporting others. You are quite correct . I was looking at revenue weight on Vehicle Smart app. Didn't know what revenue weight was. I do now. Thanks for pointing this out.
  8. Having driven a couple of hundred miles now I agree with SurreySlowCoach. I'm really pleased with the car. I thought it may feel quite under powered being a 1.0 tsi in a reasonably big car, but no, its is perfectly adequate for my needs and delivers reasonable torque meaning I don't need to rev excessively. Of course I will miss my Yeti TDI 170 but my driving needs have changed. My driving is a lot of stop start town driving, I have no real need for 4x4. Looking at the weight of both cars my Karoq is over 400kg lighter than my last Yeti ! I didn't realise how heavy the Yeti was.
  9. Cheers DSL. Deal is done, I say goodbye to my Yeti tomorrow when I collect my Karoq. I did wonder if I might find the 1.0 tsi lacking. Ive had a good test drive and was quite suprised. My driving is 90% city driving these days, short journeys. About 8k miles a year. My first Yeti was a 1.2 tsi dsg and that was a capable car.
  10. I've gone for a 19 plate 1.0 SE. Karoq. This will suit my motoring needs for the next few years. Will miss my Yeti but time to move on. I've lifted the mats from Yeti. Thanks for tip.
  11. Thats good to hear. I'm test driving tomorrow. Has you're car been subject to any service campaigns or software updates?
  12. Hi, thinking of trading my Yeti for Karoq SE 1.5 tsi dsg. The car I'm looking at first reg Dec 2018. 10k miles, one owner. Anything I need to look out for. I'm unsure which DSG this has in. I had a bad experience with an early Yeti DSG. Think it was the DQ200? in that. 7 gear dry clutch. Any advise very welcome 🙏
  13. Thanks for your detailed info JR. I think you have nailed this problem. At the momment I'm leaving things well alone as the only issue I now have is the clutch peddle not returning as it should on first start up in the morning. As you have suggested, I've stopped hooking my foot under the clutch peddle as there is little point. The peddle then returns normally after first couple of gear changes. The car is then fine for the rest of the day. I'll post again if there are any further developments. Many thanks.
  14. £360 inc VAT. The info you've shared is really useful. You're correct. No fluid loss which reassures me its not the slave cylinder. The new master cylinder seems to have improved things somewhat but find I'm hooking my foot under the clutch peddle to lift it back every morning. With the information you have kindly taken the time to share there is no way it could be the slave cylinder. I'm back to work tomorrow after a 10 day break so my Yeti is back to daily use. I'll just have to see how it things go.
  15. I'm having the exact same problem. Clutch master cylinder has benn replaced, same problem persists. My local Skoda dealer now suspects slave cylinder located inside the bell housing. This means gearbox off job. I just cant afford this right now. Its a big job. I'll just have to run the car and hope until I can afford the repair. Will keep you posted.
  16. Yes, car is mid regen of dpf. As you get to know your car you may be able to tell when its doing regen. Tickover will rise to 950 rpm or there abouts. Tickover may also rise during cold weather or if youve got lots of electircs running like AC, heated screens etc. Of cousre, during a longer run you wont notice regen at all. Tend to let mine finish regen if ive got home and its mid cycle, doesn't happen often and generally finishes within 2 or 3 mins. Hope this helps.
  17. Valid point. Ill get some ordered. Cheers.
  18. I never stop learning. Interesting post and makes sense. So pleased I went for powder coating and didn't replace with new at significant expense.
  19. Will be 8 years in October. No plans to change, its a great car.
  20. Got my Yeti wheels powder coated. Felt I didn't have a choice other than purchase new. Once the laquer was compromised on my wheels I was fighting a loosing battle. Really please with the result. Time and avoiding kerbs will see how this finish holds up. I've attached before and after pics.
  21. Spot on muddyboots. That is my understanding of gen1 yeti.
  22. Mine has remained standard, didn't have VW 'fix' so can't comment if it made the car feel less responsive. However, noted your Octavia Scout was 2.0PD. I may stand corrected, but weren't the earlier PD engines known for delivering a good chunk of torque lower down the rev range than CR diesel. Mine kicks in at 1750 rpm.
  23. Yep, noted the 420nm, had to ask google to convert that to old school, around 310ft lb. Love the torque on these things and its the only reason I'd consider a remap really, just to enjoy more torque. You experienced any reliability issues with remap?
  24. Nice one. Did you notice the the difference with bigger disks. Makes total sense upgrading brakes if re-mapping.
