  1. Thanks Caine9. It was always a bit of a mystery to me what the car would actually come with and I recently made the mistake of looking at the skoda.co.uk spec sheet where it says the heated windscreen is extra. I hope you enjoy the car, I've never had a new car and I can't wait to get it
  2. Phew - I had been wondering about this. I pick my FL L&K up on the 1st. Can't wait! What engine, colour etc have you gone for?
  3. Hi Brijo Well spotted! I jump at any chance of a trip to Cornwall (even in this weather) and also they came up with the best price.
  4. L&K 170 Black Magic, ordered 5/11, build week 4. Last I heard last week it was on a ship from Germany, so should be somewhere in the country, hopefully on its way to Cornwall I am thinking of asking the dealer to hold it for the 14 reg. Might as well wait another couple of weeks before the long journey to collect it.
  5. My Yeti is being built this week, and I'm planning to replace the 17" with 16" wheels when I get it because my wife suffers from neck problems meaning any car with low profile tyres can be a problem. Is the difference in handling that noticeable? My current car has low profiles and I am quite a hard driver when on my own, enjoying throwing it around corners. It sounds like if I try to do that on 16s I might get a nasty surprise. Damn it I don't want to wallow around like Eric Pickles doing the twist
  6. Thanks for all the mpg info, most useful and interesting...I shall have to curb my instincts and keep my right foot off the pedal a bit. I certainly hear they have a lot of power though, might not be able to contain myself. As for discounts, awhitham, I will PM you my dealer if you like, and if I can work out how to do it.
  7. Hey Fuzzy I notice you seem to be getting very good mpg, is this typical for the 170 or are you a very careful driver? I'm interested as that's the engine my car is going to have, when I finally get it
  8. I ordered in November and got 3000+ off by contacting a lot of dealers and just asking them for their best price. That's off a Outdoor L&K 170, so it can be done. I didn't fancy buying from a broker and would rather know who I'm dealing with. Having said that it's going to be a long trip to collect the car, but that's fine with me.
  9. Hi all, Ordered a L&K 170 in Black on 5th November, build date is currently week 4, having moved around quite a bit. I'm hoping it will stay there. How long does it take to get shipped over? I'd imagine this can take a few weeks
  10. I've recently ordered my Yeti but I didn't want to delay the delivery date any longer by ordering extras. I don't like the idea of no spare, I'm sure I can buy one somewhere but are there any extra fittings or does the shelf fit onto existing ones?
  11. Thanks for all your replies, I'm thinking we might hold out for the FL version in the new year. If we do proceed with buying from these guys I'll follow your advice and use a credit card. Cheers John
  12. Thanks for your reply. They want £500, which is pretty standard as I understand it. I think it's direct to them as they seem to be expecting deliveries of Yetis in the next couple of months, though who knows whether that's direct or via dealers. As the advert was on ebay and they only have 2 recommendations, and I can't find anyone recommending/discussing them on the internet I think it may be better to be cautious and look elsewhere.
  13. I'm quite tempted by this as I would really like to get a new Yeti before the winter, but how can I check these guys are for real? I've called them and they have a suitable car and would require a deposit, so full payment would only be made on collection of the vehicle, but I've never heard of them and a quick google didn't turn up any results. I reckon I might have to wait for a facelift model through a dealer, though that wait is likely to drive me crazy - especially if it gets put back. It's all very confusing, never bought a new car before. Maybe I'll just go and buy some old banger instead.
  14. Hi Skoda fans I'm nervously thinking about buying a new Yeti L&K - never bought a new car before. My current car is an old Seat Leon Cupra and it's been a great car for the last 10 years, so I thought another VW based brand is a good bet. I've seen some posts on here discussing ride quality; my wife has neck problems and finds the ride in many cars too harsh, including the Elegance that we took for a test drive. We then drove a 1.2 model with 16" wheels which seemed ok, so my plan is to get some of those. It seems that Skoda won't supply the L&K with 16" alloys so when/if I order the car I will try to get some 16" alloys as well...seems a bit crazy but I'm thinking it might be easier to sell in the future with the original 17" alloys. I might post something in the Yeti forum to see what they think. The Yeti seems like a great car and worth spending my daughter's inheritance on:-) snafu
