Like comparing apples and oranges. The Tuscon is a medium family hatchback on stilts. The Kodiaq is a full size 7 seat SUV. I’m glad you’re pleased but I’m surprised something so much smaller fitted your bill.

You can’t always have what you want. This is aimed at the lease people who’s car is never coming

But you’ve spent all that time and not found a car in the same class (as in size) bracket as the Kodiaq. The problem is not if you are happy for a Karoq replacement there are a few cars around. If you want something equivalent to a Kodiaq there is absolutely nothing available right now or what is available is heavily compromised.

It’s a 230 hybrid and in my opinion every bit as good, but each to their own as this is a Skoda forum 🤣

If you'd like to hand me £10k I'll get right on it, thanks for your contribution.

Cash purchase, but hanging on for exactly the reasons you gave.

Just for info, take it or leave it. I put a lot of effort into finding something else, never stop looking, cold call dealerships, that’s what I did and stumbled on this top of the range Tuscon,  all bells and whistles for exactly the same as what I was going to pay for the Kodiaq.

How long from build did yours take to get to the dealers?

Just found this on the internet. Loads if you Google it

Some of the higher spec Tucson’s are made in Korea and there is a shipment due in the country in late May or early June. I suspect you are getting one of those. As is my father.

Tucson’s are one of the few cars that are available for lease within a week or two and it’s been that way for months. However,  reading the Hyundai forums there seems plenty of people waiting with exactly the same complaints about no communication and dealers just saying they don’t know week in week out…so not sure it’s any better if you are stuck in the factory queue.

N Line S 230 coming from Czech Republic. In build now. Due 8 weeks from ordering, so June 16th. Better than 11 months with no build week planned.

I really hope if you ever get your Kodiaq you don’t hate is as much as you seem to. At least if one of the many cars you say you’ve ordered turns up first, someone else can jump onto your Kodiaq order and have less of a wait 🤞🏻

Definitely don’t hate it, I ordered one, it just does not get me exited like others seem to be. Photos of Kodiaqs? Really! But each to there own

Unfortunately you can't check with Skoda anymore, here is my complaint response -

"To clarify, us as customer relations representatives DO NOT have access to the factory systems, nor are we able to contact them.

If we are contacted by customers wanting updates on their vehicle order, our policy is to refer them to the selling dealerships, who DO have access to the factory system.

If customers do not accept this, and want ourselves to provide an update, we were able to contact a 3rd party department who deals with the vehicle orders for information.

However, due to recent policy changes, this department is no longer providing ourselves this information, and customers are to be directed back to the dealerships, who have the same access to these systems, to keep their customers updated on the status of their vehicle.

Your selling ŠKODA Approved Retailer will always be best placed to keep you up to date with specific production and delivery issues.

I apologise this is not the outcome you were expecting.

As we cannot assist further, your case will have to be closed."

Very much looking forward to filling in the feedback after that response 😅

I don’t think I have ever come across such poor customer communications and relations. I ordered a Hyundai last Saturday and already received 2 emails, last one saying the car will be with the dealership on the 24th June!

My understanding is that the credit checks for car finance are fairly soft and whilst they may slightly reduce your credit score they don’t involve the full affordability checking as per a mortgage where obviously applying for three at the same time would not be allowed. So I suspect it doesn’t make much difference.

Car finance is low risk for a lender since should you not be able to pay then they reclaim the asset.

All 3 dealers know I have ordered 3 options. Each car commitment is £15k max each (3 years lease including advance payment). None of them have asked for a deposit, explaining the cars will be easy to sell if I cancel. My credit score is as good as it was before. It’s a win / win.

Slightly off topic, but does that mean you've applied for 3 lots of credit...? I obviously don't know your personal circumstances, but presumably you've been approved for all 3 in order to place the order? Ignoring the affordability question as I'm guessing you didn't tell any of them about the other applications... but won't that impact on your credit rating (multiple applications in a short time)?

Asking out of pure interest - nothing else.

    Correct - strange question?

  10. Tuscon and Sportage, both top of the range 230 hybrid. Obviously smaller than the Kodiaq but never really wanted the Kodiaq. I was shopping for a Karoq and the Kodiaq was much lower monthly’s! Test drove all and Will be happy to live with any of these for the next 3 years. The dealers ordered these in January for stock and due inBetween May and August. Unlike Skoda Both Hyundai and Kia are happy to supply lease cars at the same rate as retail cars. However, they will prioritise official dealers before third party lease companies. The race is on!

Indeed, but that will be Skoda UK in this country - still nothing to do with the factory.

Skoda is Skoda. Doesn’t matter if  it is the factory, Skoda uk or anywhere else. Skoda own it all, and any divisions discount comes out of the overall companies business P&L. Only the dealerships are independent

Same here... though I think you mean dealer discount. Pretty sure the factory don't discount them 😃.

discount can be both from Skoda and the dealership.

thats why very few lease cars are coming through, heavy discounts with no profit.
