@Spivo  Odd that you ask here if anyone else has heard what you heard from your reliable and well informed source.

He must read stuff or listen to what Skoda / VW Group are telling him or his bosses.

    ?

So what dealership does this salesperson work at that tells you more than other Skoda UK customers are being told at other Dealerships?

not the sharpest pencil. My friend did not give me the info the Dealer did. This is the dealer I am getting the car from. What is your problem??

just had an update i have a unconfirmed build week of 34 i dont know whether to laugh or cry. its movement but 5 months away. If you walked into a show room and ordered i recon you'd get it quicker.

This means 14 months from order to going into build

Mine gone back also. Was BW17 but now has no build week. Blaming situation in Ukraine

Why is the ŠKODA dealer still updating you? Did you not get the Kia Sportage GT after having previously bailed out of the Kodiaq in early November when you bought an in-stock Volvo XC60?

Both fell through for different reasons smart arse. There is nothing I want more than to bail out and even at the cost of spending more. It getting harder and harder to do so!

  4. My dealer just updated me. He said Skoda have done a press release around the shortage of parts due to the invasion in Ukraine So he said to expect even longer delays than before (i ordered in June 21 before Ukraine). However, he went on to make me feel bad for even asking about a car while people are suffering. fair point, it breaks my heart watching the news. How many other people are going about life as normal and moaning about trivial things. So resigned to the lease the car not coming this year and time to shut the xxxx up Spivo

You're starting to sound like a broken record. Unless you can provide tangible evidence that this is actually happening - in which case I'm sure we'd all love to know about it because it would be shady dealings indeed - please give it a rest.

I can't for one second imagine that someone's fleet/lease order has got as far as the dealer, and the dealer has instead decided to advertise it on Autotrader and sell it to someone else. But I could be wrong, it's a crazy world.

You are in denial buddy. Retail purchases take priority over lease - fact

After a couple of years away from Skoda and previously owning 3 Fabias I decided I’d like a Kodiaq as the family wagon. I got offered a decent cash deal on a VRS so placed my order mid February. I was initially told 26 weeks delivery, but on the day I paid my deposit was told 17 weeks (and signed the disclaimer about possible delays!) I took this with a pinch of salt especially after reading this forum and put it to the back of my mind. Was surprised to receive a call from the dealer today saying my car has been allocated a build date of week 16. I’m not holding my breath though as I know this can change!

You will be getting someone’s fleet/ lease order. Every time a retail order comes in the lease car is used and the the lease order goes to the back of the queue

    What colour and spec?

My dealer emailed me back and said I have just spoken to retail support and you are correct about the delay in production on fleet and motability orders this was a decision made by the brand at the first stage of the shortage of semi-conductors but was stopped back in August 2021 putting everything into production

Yep, some people on here denied that fact when I said this weeks ago

The only solution i was given is to cancel, he said he had no information at all and i allready asked about others that allr got their car while ordering later, he said he cannot comment on that and that he has no info at all and i need to be patient... if i cancel now i would be in it for another roller coaster with a much higher price

They are all programmed to come out with the same **** response. I assume it’s a lease car?

Might be a fantastic deal on paper

Sounds like a rubbish deal in reality as you don’t get the car for who knows long, all you really have is a hollow order which you cannot control.

I agree. That is why I have walked away. Skoda have no morales, they have held information from too many customers. Not the Skoda dealers to blame directly but I think they have known for a long time what was happening within the system created. Good luck to those who have leased cars or on mobility but I think you will be waiting a very long time.

What's your source for this, out of interest?

A member of the sales team at a Skoda dealership. Also when looking at trying to buy a Tiguan the sales guy told me (without him knowing my current position). I don't think it is any secret now if you demand straight answer. My Skoda dealer where i ordered the Kodiaq denied this a couple of months ago and it annoys me so much knowing that they have known for a long time know. It makes business sense but please be transparent so we can make personal choices. Kodiaqs Fleet cars were heavenly discounted for months when the facelift was announced. i got an absolute fantastic deal but at month 10 now of waiting.

I've still not had an update from the broker/dealer but i have seen over on facebook someone who ordered the exact same spec/colour 6 months after me has got confirmation the car is built and being shipped which really takes the ****.

This will have been a retail purchase not lease, more profit more!

I don’t think it’s going to be as clear cut as people are making out. Skoda U.K. who profess the orders don’t know how much you’ve paid. I guess they might know how it’s financed so it’s possible lease gets a lower build priority. But I’d be amazed if they actually knew what the customer paid. Less so the factory. However of course Skoda will know there are trims and lines that are higher profit than others. So suspect it’s more that than individual circumstances.

My car was discounted by Skoda and only an Additional small amount by the dealer. Trust me, they know. This source of info works in sales for Skoda!

If that's the case then when do you ever expect to receive your cars? If as you maintain, it's related to profit, the only way you are going to receive your car is when Skoda have no orders left. As far as I can see there are queues / mountains of customers only too willing to pay more than you.

So if you think you're at the end of a never ending queue, what purpose does it serve waiting or complaining?

The idea that the factory are looking at individuals rather than the actual car is unrealistic IMO

I have ordered another brand. There as to be a compromise somewhere so after nearly a year of waiting, the cars will not be too much longer. My dealer dismissed the information, but believe me I could not have got this info from a more reliable source. Good Luck, I will be interested to see how it pans out.

My provisional BW14 is now provisional BW13 so at least heading in the right direction. Dealer has been great with the regular comms and will hopefully get confirmed BW soon- 147 days since order,  it’s an agonising wait when your like a kid in a sweet shop 🚙💨

Sorry Buddy but I’ve been they only to be disappointed when it changes. Had a very interesting guy who is in sales at a Skoda dealership. There is definitely a pecking order (fact) related to profit in the car. Lease and Mobility are suffering.

My optimistic delivery date of end of March early April is now looking more like June/July. It’s ok, but I did have a wobble and nearly cancelled my order the other day.

Ordered in end of last October.

I guess it’s down to the chips still! I don’t think it’s completely a profit thing because mine had a few options on it.

When did you place your order?
