  1. I have a Sportline 280 hatch and had a petrol VRS previously, ( before it was stolen). The Superb is very refined, but if someone offered to swap me an Octy VRS 245, I would do it in a heartbeat, as I personally found the VRS more fun, though it was significantly lower quality and slightly cosier for room inside. That's just me though.
  2. Mine is only a year old and my hubs are possibly worse in places. Funnily enough, a neighbour who has a Golf R, also fairly new, said to me the other day, that his discs were the same.
  3. Best I got on my 280 was 37, on a very gentle, long run of 200 miles or so, on mainly motorway at max of 70, with frequent 50s as you find on our motorway network. Round town, is not so good, only ever get low 20s. Don't ask me what the maxidot was showing, when it was snowy!!
  4. Sometimes the system in my Superb overreacts to another car, with a warning tone and flashing red display. It isn't very consistent. I dare say the Karoq is also a bit inconsistent. Not a fan of the system from my driving with it thus far, but I had better get used to it, as the Karoq, will be exactly the same, by the looks of things.
  5. My order was made on 28th February and I have been informed that my Edition 1.5tsi dsg, has a confirmed BW of 17. With the shenanigans of seats already reported, I shan't hold my breath.
  6. Excellent! Nice to see folks taking delivery.
  7. Actually, that was my original plan, after losing the Octavia. I could possibly be persuaded. I shouldn't send this thread off topic though, so by all means drop me a PM, if you would like.
  8. Good question. I ended up going for the Superb after returning my Yeti to the dealer I purchased from and it was one of their ex demos. I had hoped it would be similar to my Octy vrs. It is almost too refined for me, if That doesn’t sound too daft. The driving experience is super efficient and I have a very good spec on mine, but it doesn’t involve like the vrs did, and its a bit long for my driveway, in practice. But the main reason I am going for a different car, is that , for some reason, after half an hour of sriving it, I get an awful pain down my right leg. Don’t know whether its me,(probably is, with arthritis in various joints) but it just sets me off with only ever lightly touching the throttle at normal speeds. No problem on the motorway, especially with the adaptive cruise, but I drive round town mostly. If you fancy a nice specced low mileage example, you would probably like mine. Its a shame really, its not even done 9k yet.
  9. Sounds like the same dealer as the one I ordered from. The deal was good, but sales person I ended up with seemed a bit distracted.
  10. Funnily enough,I agonised over the Octy VRS versus Karoq as well, before ordering mine. I loved my vrs tsi that I had, but the Karoq was very convincing and more urgent to drive than I expected, plus the vrs245 orders were closed, so am happy with my choice.
  11. I had a tyre blow out part of the sidewall of a brand new tyre, last year on my Octavia, after hitting a pothole at less than 30 mph. I was very glad of my spacesaver spare then. I wouldn’t be without one now.
  12. I got mine through Carwow, second time I have used them and got a half decent deal.Dead easy.
  13. I thought the windows on the Yeti were brilliant, and, if I am honest, I think the Karoq is not quite as good in that area. The ride is surprisingly good though, even on the 19s on the Edition model. It doesn’t get as smooth as my current Superb, but I was surprised it was that good. My back prefers sympathy as well. I am not completely sure on the gearbox designation, but I seem to remember reading, on one of the forum threads, that it was a newer design , but cannot swear to that. Petrols have a dry clutch and diesels a wet clutch box.
  14. It certainly wasn’t a fun experience! They broke into my house to get the keys. My wife and I were in the house at the time, as well, albeit asleep. It was traumatic and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.
