  1. Although not a vRS 245, but a 230, 2017 petrol manual with 22k miles, I struggled to get some prices to compare as my contract hire was expiring in January and wanted to purchase the car. I only found 9 similar models on Autotrader last month. However after some easy negotiations with BCA managed to purchase the car last week for £13.5k which was a fair bit cheaper than the models advertised on Autotrader. very pleased with the price and smooth transaction.
  2. Mines a 40 month @ £285 with a 10k mileage allowance. Contract Hire expires in January 2021. VWFS will provide a settlement figure to purchase after the 19th October. Struggling at the moment to find comparison vehicles on sale to get an idea of potential values. A WhatCar valuation puts the VRS with 21.1k mileage at £13.8k for a private sale and £15.5k for a dealer sale. I wait with baited breath as to what VWFS will ask for to purchase the vehicle.
  3. VWFS have said that I will be able to purchase (mine is a PCH agreement). Thanks SCO3OTT, it appears to be a painless process from your experience. I guess the purchase price will determine my decision. I have not seen many examples of vehicles of my spec for sale to compare value vs quoted purchase price, but I am expecting a price of between £16k to £18k, but hope it will be lower.
  4. Has anyone had any experience of purchasing their Skoda following the expiry of their personal contract hire agreement. Any tips or pitfalls to be aware of? I am waiting on VWFS to provide a purchase price for a 2017 VRS with 21.1k mileage. The vehicle is a petrol and manual. The agreement expires in January 2021 and I am looking to purchase the vehicle. Thank you.
  5. The problem may have been addressed in the FL models. My 2014 vRS always had water collecting under the door on front doors, but only on my drive which had a slight downward incline. On flat surfaces not much of an issue at all. Having had the FL vRS for 2 weeks now and numerous days of rain in that time, I still haven't experienced any water collection under the doors.
  6. Got to say that I never liked the sound generator in the MK 3 vRS TSI and there was no way to turn down/off, but never really a problem as music usually drowned the sound. However, in the FL vRS altogether better proposition. In individual set up you can adjust the sound and on sport mode I now quite like the sound as it has an altogether different sound that the previous model. has anyone else noticed the difference between the two models?
  7. SD card now received in the post from the dealer and as Auric states, the SD card was contained within a DVD type case. Still to fit and try. On collection of the vehicle this time around, no formal handover explaining features etc. like Freakcrab mentions. I assume that as an existing vRS driver the dealer assumed that I am familiar with the car, presented me with flowers and a bottle of wine and let me go.
  8. Yes I tend to agree. Only a week in with my FL vRS TSI hatchback and definitely quieter than the previous model. I have also found that the boot lid appears lighter than the previous model, has anyone else found that or is it just me. I wonder if the boot lid has been redesigned to counter the many previous posts about "cabin boom". During the first few weeks of ownership on the previous vRS, there was a lot of noise and passengers did comment about pressure on the ears but all this soon faded as miles added.
  9. A little disappointed that my FL vRS did not come with the new style multimedia holder as I wanted the holder to place my phone in. A quick search on the internet found that Horton Skoda are selling them for £7 inc. postage, which is much cheaper than on what I could find on eBay. You would have thought that all new models will come with the latest accessories.
  10. I recommend the Goodyear Asymmetric 3. Had them fitted on my previous 2014 vRS over the 3 year ownership, one pair at a time and I noticed a significant improvement in terms of noise and handling, so much so I have the stock tyres replaced with the Goodyear's when I collected my FL vRS yeaterday. Dealer was very accommodating in replacing the tyres at a reasonable cost.
  11. Thank all. There isn't a SD card in either slots so will be contacting the dealer to obtain one.
  12. Having collected a FL vRS, I cannot get the navigation to work and get the message "Navigation Database Not Available". Am I missing something or failing to activate something on the Infotainment system? Have searched the manual but no help there. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
  13. Nothing on the TPS site, but managed to eventually find it on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Golf-Mk7-Chrome-Key-Top-Kit-BRAND-NEW/141455881863?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 which was being sold by a VW dealership!
  14. Can anyone who has taken delivery of their new FL vRS please advise whether the key fob came with a chrome tip or was it all black plastic, the same as the MK3. Only asking this as I replaced my key fob with a chrome tip in 2014 and finding it difficult to find the part on eBay. as I would like to do the same after taking delivery of my FL vRS in a couple of weeks time. Thanks
  15. They were the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. My decision to replace the current stock tyres were based on reviews from this forum and reviews from the internet. I am no professional driver, just your Mr Average but I definitely noticed an improvement in noise and general ride quality and this was sufficient to ask my dealer to fit them on my new car from the outset.
