  1. Logrover, Thanks for this post. I have now solved the same problem on my 2008 Fabia by replacing the driver side window motor with a second-hand one off of EBay. It took 2 attempts though so I want to help others avoid the same mistake. I naively assumed that any Mk2 Fabia window motor would do. So I first bought a 2013 motor for my 2008 car. When I went to fit it, I found that the part number was different. It had a different wiring socket, though the wiring plug did fit. It solved the problem but then both front windows didn’t work. So, having now removed the original window motor, I searched EBay again and got one from a 2006 VW Polo, which used the same part number. The door trim is really easy to remove. If you’re going to buy a replacement window motor, get the part number off of your existing motor first!
