  1. Canton is only an option, thats how i felt as soon as i saw mine, i actually travelled from Southampton to doncaster to get it
  2. I came from a brand new cupra black edition 290st to my prefl230 and the cupra was great, quick, comfy and handled brilliantly and drove really well on the 19s as it had the dynamic chassis control as standard, i never had any issues with rattles just severe axle tramp, however jumping into the octavia it did feel like a step up in quality, the dash, the full leather is so much better than half fake leather buckets in cupra, both cars are superb , if only vrs had dynamic chassis control and is38 turbo then it would be perfect
  3. Changing tyre size from 225/35/19 to 235/35/19 sorts above issue out
  4. I cant speak highly enough of the pre fl230, bloody lovely car, ive a manual estate in red, i only ever said id get meteor grey but seeing red one in flesh with the black 19s, roofrails and mirrors really set it apart. I did have a pre fl230 hatch with dsg for a while and although the dsg was faultless i prefer manual, the spec on pre fl 230 is so good and imo a much better package than the facelift 230(no diff for starters) the 245 is nice esp early editions with 19s(i really like the 19 extremes) i just prefer the prefl230 because of the leather interior and having young kids it was a must. I feel they drive fine on the 19s and with the right tyres reasonably quiet, i would look out for privately owned one as most are ex lease cars , you wont regret it
  5. Just come from cupra 290st and the boot isnt a patch on the octavia, i briefly had a vrs hatch and that had that a bigger boot than the Cupra and better built i may add, im now in a pre f/l 230 vrs estate and although boot length is same as hatch the height makes it a perfect option for a dog, the Cupra St has a slight sloping roof and there isnt any benefit over a vrs hatch
  6. The early pre f/l 230 estates didnt as factory forgot to add, only a very few tho
  7. My new 66 plate pre f/l 230 does this, thought i was going mad but mine does it with distance as well as fuelling. Is there a way of finding out what cluster we have rather than taking it out and looking at part number
  8. Ive just gone other way, hatch to estate and although hatch was very good i think i prefer the estate for everyday practicalities and as poster mentioned above better looking
  9. Sure its the rad as there is loads of recent threads about coolant loss

  11. Cheers all, tapping on town indeed bought up the ptcd icon
  12. Hi all just bought a lovely 66plate pre f/l 230 but went to use sat nav and it would only allow me to put in 5 digits for the postcode so hence only find the city not the actual place i want to go, now ive come from a 66plate cupra 290 st and that was fine for postcodes but i would presume they'd use same nav, any tips anyone , cheers
  13. Hi all may be a stupid one but after having my new 66plate pre f/l 230 a week now it annoys me that it trys to find previos owners phones before mine, now ive looked but cant see hiw to delete, is it a case of resetting all factory settings, if so is this just basics like radio stations etc, cheers all
