  1. Thanks but thinking about this surely the gain on the sd card would only normalise the sound on the sd cardand have no reference to theradio sound as I would not know what the gain is on the radio, therefore when I switch from sd card to radio wojld tge sound volume not be constant?

quote name="JakeBlade" post="3893209" timestamp="1407788500"]What program did you use to get your mp3s onto your SD card? It could be that you had negative gain when converting your files?

I use mp3 Gain and use the default gain of 89

  3. I don't know if this is a correct action or not hope someone can enlighten me. When the dsg moves through the gears under inreased speed, why does it not shift through quickly to the next gear up, however if I take my foot off the accelerator it then changes up. This action seems odd to me as the dsg on my Audi TT moves through as I expect it too on revs.

  4. Wrong order.  Press the brake pedal then press the start button (unless the cars with stop/start systems work differently to mine).

Thanks "wokwon", just the order in which I wrote the description, as you point out, this is the only way I start the engine. However on this occasion it did not start!

  5. Well, the brake pedal hardening is just the vacumn reservoir for the servo getting depleted. You can reproduce that by pimping the pedal with the engine off.

The not startign is trickier, but makes me think of an intermittant fault with the anti-theft immobilisor or with the ignition inhibitor.

Thanks "Ken O Neill", is this detectable with vcds or does it require dealer to investigate?

  6. I had a really strange experience today, when I pressed the start button and depressed the barake padal(DSG) the ignition switched on but the engine would not start, no sound no warning light showing there was anything wrong. I turned the ignition off and tried again but no good, I tried this several times but would not start and each time I tried, the brake pedal became stiffer. After approx.1 hour I tried again and the engine started !!.

Has anyone experienced this? If so what is the possible cause, most interested to hear your views.

  7. I contacted my dealer and asked how do I display the mp3 artwork on my 2014 Superb Elegance Columbus system.

Well the answer I got from Skoda dealer, is the Superb does not have the latest Columbus model, as does the Octavia.

Where is the logic in selling a brand new car but with an out of date Columbus.I can only guess that as the Superb Elegance has the Columbus as standard, they are using up all the old stock, and only if you purchase a Columbus upgrade will you possibly get the latest model. This is tantamount to robbery, needless to say I have sent a letter to Skoda Uk, expressing by dissatisfaction, and await there response.

  8. Brake Assist: When drivers perform an emergency stop they often do not press hard enough on the brake pedal to reach maximum stopping potential (i.e. just on the border of activating anti-lock braking).  Other drivers will panic when the brake pedal starts to vibrate (when ABS activates) and then release brake pressure.  Brake assist detects an emergency braking situation (by things like how quickly/suddenly the brake pedal is pressed) and applies a full braking pressure even if the driver has not pressed hard enough to do this.  It deactivates if the driver releases most of the brake pedal pressure.

I played with it on a defensive driving course and it definitely activates.

    Hi

can you advise what the code is for activating the brake assist.

    Thanks
