  1. I talked to the bodyshop manager, he says Skoda are being totally intransigent on this using the two year inspection excuse (which isn’t in any of my paperwork, just the reporting as soon as it is discovered) and he has seen three others brought in to him with the same issue in the last four months. He also said it would have been the same even if we had used them for servicing instead of an independent local garage business. Apparently the Yeti had a similar issue. Skoda UK can expect a lot of bad press and lost sales on this if they don’t relent- however they have sod-all product to sell anyway so not a lot to lose…
  2. It is a 2014 car and we have had it since 2016 or 2017. Serviced last May and no mention of it then.
  3. My Wife just noticed her Citigo is bubbling. I will report on how helpful (or otherwise) D M Keith are in resolving this. Serviced at a local Wakefield garage called Spencer & Broadhead once out of used car warranty.
  4. For those asking, the car ordered Feb 1 22 so no time at all really compared to some of you here.
  5. I’ve now pulled the plug on my Octavia IV lease. I would have stuck it out but my Mum died and we no longer need the big boot for the wheelchair. I asked Lings to suggest something PHEV but shorter/cheaper. They suggested the Kia Niro 2 December delivery. I went down to our local Kia dealer to sit in one and they had a 2019 plate Kia Niro 3 on the forecourt for £10k cheaper with 17,500 on the clock, so I have reverted to my old approach of buying not too old used cars. I don’t get keyless entry (it is on the latest iteration) but I can live with that.
  6. I have just heard from the leasing company:- 'All IV product is delayed due to supply of the noise generator when on electric.'
  7. Apologies if this has already been posted, but there is a fascinating 12 minute video of 2022 Octavias being manufactured here:
  8. Having just had the Superb serviced, I am advised that the car is grumbling because it is aware that the front sensors are unauthorised non-warranty ones. (Apparently they are wired back to a box labelled laserline). I had a chinese car radio in the car from when I bought it which I recently replaced and wonder whether the alarm had been masked when the first radio had been coded which has now been lost.
  9. My 64 plate Superb has developed a strange symptom. Generally when shifting into reverse, I will hear four clicks followed by a long beep followed by a short beep. It isn't the same pitch as the reversing sensors. I did change the radio to a Pioneer last year (from a chinese no brand one) but I didn't opt for the visual module to show air con state & reversing map, I didn't see the point. The car has front sensors as well as rear which will sound in neutral so I suspect they may be aftermarket. The symptom will sometimes do it whilst slow moving forwards. No error indications on the dash or maxidot. It is quite a while until my next service so I was just wondering if this rang any bells with anyone. Cheers, Ian
  10. No doubt the dealer has an "E&OE" caveat on their website. The car definitely has front and rear sensors as I watched them show up on the screen in sequence when the salesman walked back to the car after going to get trade plates. Anyway, I'm picking up the car shortly so will be able to clarify this all later on.
  11. I'm in the process of changing from a 2011 Superb 1.8 TSI to a 2014 Superb TDI Estate. (Both Elegance trim). Although advertised as having a DAB Columbus, I've actually realised (in hindsight) that it has an aftermarket radio with a dash mounted antenna. I can only assume that the Columbus was stolen and the replacement is only FM. (Presumably the DAB antenna on the roof isn't compatible). It looks vaguely Columbus-ish and at first I just thought the layout had been refined. The only radio that as an even similar screen menu that I could find on Google was from Ali Baba in China... What the radio does do is appear to integrate with the car, front and rear sensors show up on the display, even when in neutral. The car doesn't have a front sensor button on the console top right though, the only difference with the old car is stop/start third left. So are the sensors fitted regardless? I'm not overly fussed about not having a Columbus as they are a liability at present, I had my old one broken into and stolen back in October. I'm bemused about the sensors though, I might learn to hate them being on all the time. Opinions welcome.
  12. This is obviously still going on as I had my Columbus nicked from an NCP in Bradford yesterday.
  13. V9 maps on their way to me. As an aside, I unterstand from other threads that Bluetooth isn't really part of Columbus. I have a scenario where my Company Blackberry is set up as the phone without issue and my Samsung Galaxy Note II is set up as the Media player. I can happily play music from the Note but cannot advance tracks or see the track details. I saw mention that this was a limitation of Spotify but it should be OK on Winamp, however I have Winamp Pro which behaves exactly the same. Now I have blurtooth headphones that can happily advance the track so know the phone can do it but I can't find any obvious settings in the car or the phone. Any ideas? I think that having split phones may be a red herring but I'll recheck just homed to one of them. (media Player doesn't work from the samsung if the Blackberry is off).
  14. I eventually popped the trim starting near the hazard switch as I wasn't getting anywhere from the bottom. Dropped a Torx re-assembling so had to pop the Climatronic trim as well to get the screw back.
