Tow bar specific rear bumper valance ?
Hello Everyone, I'm told by the tow bar fitter that there is a specific rear valance ( the black part) which Skoda use themselves for fitting tow bars. This has a ecessed part running the length of the valance which looks much neater. It's not the one that has a hole cut in it for the folding versions but one that might be retro fitted by a dealer ? Seems a bit OTT to potentially have 3 different versions mind..... I've look and can't find anything - anyone know more about this ? Thanks

After market towbar - is a new rear valance or pre-cut panel needed
Hello Everyone - I saw this thread which is exactly where I'm at. I've had the car (2023 estate, SE-L iV) a week and want to get a detachable tow bar for it. Fitter in Shrewsbury mentioned that there's a different type of rear diffuser which makes things neater but he also said that cutting the existing one actually doesn't look too bad at all ( they've done a few Octavias) Interested in any views and pointers on this - what route should I go down ? Thanks

iV granny charger solution- any ideas?
Thanks Rob, yes sounds like what I'm planning. If I set minimum charge to zero then I guess it'll just charge to 100% when I set it to charge between 11.30 and 05:30 ? (That's what I'm aiming for) . Thanks

iV granny charger solution- any ideas?
That's an impressive set up! I'm going to try the in car departure times tonight because if that works then ill not need a timer (although i didnt realise that will only go to 80% - is that correct? ) Thanks very much

iV granny charger solution- any ideas?
I do have an EV charger but that's used on the other car so for this one I'll need to use a granny charger (which is ok). I think I'll need a long granny charger with a built in timer and a 3 pin plug but I've not found one....

iV granny charger solution- any ideas?
Hello Everyone, I may be being dim here but I want charge the car at a cheap rate /overnight but it's not obvious about the best way to do this. I'd like to charge 11,30 -5.30. I can see that I can set a departure time in the car but I'm not sure this helps me much. My thinking at the moment is to buy a long granny lead (type 2 one end and 3 pin plug the other) with a built in timer.... Anyone got a better idea? Thanks

New car picked up today but some oddities......
Ah thanks but it's done 12,000 miles so it should be well sorted, it's just that I thought they are thoroughly tested and reported on by the dealer....

New car picked up today but some oddities......
Hello Everyone, picked up the new car today (1,4iV SE-L estate) and had a 2 1/2 hour journey back so plenty of time to explore. A couple of observations: 1. The cup holder doesn't fit a cup! What on earth is going on...are there any clever solutions?/can you buy an adaptor or something.... (fingers crossed) 2. Disappointed to realise that main beam isn't automatic. It's a Dec 23 car so I guess just one of those things....., 3. I didn't get a battery condition report from the dealer which I was expecting...again is this normal? Many thanks

Friend is after my Superb but what to do?
Yes had a look on there but it's £950 or so which is just daft. The car is absolutely fine and drives really well so it's definitely worth a fair bit more than that

Friend is after my Superb but what to do?
Not even bothered with a dealer to be honest as my mate is keen

Friend is after my Superb but what to do?
Hello Everyone, we're in the process of moving over to an Octavia hybrid estate and I'm sad to say the Superb estate that I've had new since 2014 is going to have to go. It's a 2.0tdi Elegance, with full history and it's never wanted for anything as its been used for work. 186,000 miles (mainly motorway) and still absolutely fine. I can honestly say it's never let me down. A friend wants to buy it bit I'm really unsure what to ask for - dont want to ask for too much and equally not give it away, it's too good for that. What do you think would be a fair price? Thanks

VED - additional £400??
No it was just an iV SE-L so yes, they must have ticked every box on the options list

VED - additional £400??
I think there were quite a few options on the car which ended up just pushing it just over £40k - expensive choices.....

Space saver wheel
Hello Everyone, I'd like to get a space saver for when I pick the car up next week as we live down a very narrow country lane Trouble is, I'm unsure of the size and there's a million choices on Ebay. Could someone confirm what size I need please (iV estate) Thanks

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Thanks Andy, if I get those sort of figures I'll be chuffed.

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Thanks - I'm not familiar yet with the various button and settings but is that the hybrid setting on eco ?

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Thanks Dave - impressive stuff !

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Thanks - again, that's very encouraging. I'll have to look into that limit the usage once I have it - does that effectively "skim" a bit of the battery off and spread it over a longer range ? Does the car feel quick enough on a motorway as well - I know there's 200hp or so in theory but I only had a tiny bit of motorway driving on my test so couldn't really tell - it certainly should be though?

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Thanks Simon, that's reassuring and exactly why we've bought it. Yes I'm thinking/assuming that long runs are on Eco and hybrid/auto (whatever that setting is). I know the electric will run out well before the end of a 250 mile journey though but even 50 would be decent. Short runs can be just on electric..... Many thanks

iV fuel consumption - brilliant or terrible ?
Hello Everyone, I pushed the button on a 23 plate iV over the weekend and hopefully picking it up in the next few days. I'm coming from an old diesel Superb which really has been a good car ( still is) and I'm spoiled with fuel consumption of 55mpg+ I keep reading that the iV is either terrible on fuel or brilliant (nothing in between) and I wonder what people's experience is with them ? Short journeys will be electric only I guess but we do lots of 250miles journeys up the M6 to Glasgow and I wonder what I can realistically expect to achieve ? Really appreciate any thoughts/pointers. Thanks

VED - additional £400??
I'd have thought so as well but the dealer was adamant the VED was £590.....

VED - additional £400??
Blimey, that's shocked me, so maybe the dealer is right?.. some nasty surprises then for someone....
