Update: Got word from dealer, that the car fwill be produced April 28. First estimate at time of order was around 5 months waiting time until production. Something happened - they cut almost 4 months off of that...

Just got a mail from the dealer: My Metal Grey Estate TSI140 will be built on April 28. Since I ordered March 18, that's just 6 weeks from order. Did my car bump someone else's off the queue? Or has the factory geared up a couple of notches in production speed? Now I just wish that all the "other stuff" that has to work (transports, registration, delivery service and such) doesn't throw a spanner in the works...

I just got word from the dealer that my Estate Elegance TSI140 Metal Grey will be built April 28. I ordered March 28, så thats a mere 6 weeks from order to production! Reading posts on the forums I was expecting a much longer wait... Dealer also said that the time from production till delivery is 4-5 weeks (Transport, Registration, First Service, etc). Luckily I live in the city to which the cars are shipped - so transports within sweden are minimal. That could cut a few days on the total bill... So total time from order to delivery is expected to be 11 weeks! I wonder if my car bumped someone else's off the queue?

I ordered my Metal Grey Estate TSI140 w ACC, Xenon, Electric Boot, etc (More or less everything except the NAV -Already have stand alone) mid March - and was told that the expected production date was about 6 months away - resulting in delivery to me in Sweden around mid October. To say that I was somewhat disappointed is an understatement... Today I got a real surprise when the leasing company mailed a note that they've got a preliminary delivery date around the first week of June! Curious, I phoned the dealer, who informed me that they had got a preliminary Build Week from the factory of Week18 - that is end of April/ beginning of May. According to the dealer the BW is locked around two weeks before actual production, so in about two weeks time I COULD get a firm confirmation! I'm delighted - but somewhat apprehensive still. Anyone else have had their Production Date brought forward that much?

Well, not anymore - I just placed an order my Octavia Estate (Combi) and just like You I changed to Metal Grey... I think the colour looks classy! Jan
