Just like to add to the consensus that it is a real shame that this has happened. I met Mike once when he did some changes to my VRS and he and his wife are thoroughly nice people. I may have the only Octavia in Hampshire with both working Rear fog lights, thanks to Mike.

Right, the same link I posted originally. Glad you are sorted.

this is what i have at the mo
That looks like the same trim as mine (2011 FL VRS), so the one in the link certianly looks like what you are after. Double check the finish here: http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/navigations/oem-1z0858069dkdf1-navigation-aluminium-trim-for/#prettyPhoto
Notice that the new one for NAV has additional material around the unit hole to make it squarer. The Bolero (I assume that is still fitted in your first picture) is slightly larger and more of a rhombus shape so fills those bits itself.
When I ordered mine the parts manager had a bit of a moment and originally didn't recognise the full code with the letters at the end as listed in the link. Beware that the number is used for both pre-FL and FL setups, with the only differences being the letters that designate the finish type. Make sure you

For a Columbus and standard VRS interior (brushed aluminium look), then this is it:
http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia-trim-for-navigation-system-2009-2013-50216
I sent a link to that site to my local authorised service department who ordered it through the official channels, and it was £58.07inc just under a year ago. I got it the next day from them. This is for a FL.
One other thing (which I found out after swapping out mine) is if you are replacing a Bolero and require the code so that you can sell it one, I was told by these chaps that it's very easy to read the code if the Bolero is in the car. So if you are thinking along those lines, get it read BEFORE you swap it out, else you'll have to swap it back (unless there is another method not known/used be dealers).

Looks like you'd need to clean your headlights.

Hello Folks,
I'd just like to give a shout out to Mike Holroyd for enabling the above on my car.
I'm currently holidaying in the almost tropical county of Yorkshire. Knowing this, I contacted Mike a few weeks back .asking whether he'd be willing to enable the rear fogs, and arranged to meet today at his house.
I was given a cup of tea provided by Kim, met his friendly dogs and Mike had a thorough scan of my car via VCDS and VCP. Any codes that were logged were cleared, dimming DRLs on indication was enabled and I was offered any other VCDS change that I'd want.
I've even had the scan emailed to me for future reference.
All I can say is what a top bloke!!
I reckon I have the only FL in the south with twin rear fogs, quite unique!!
Thanks very much Mike.

I recall reading in the engine failure thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/ that someone said that Skoda did something with the replacement engine so that there isn't a need to update the V5.
EDIT: this is the actual entry: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/266114-18tsi-and-20tsi-engine-failures/page-5#entry3449247

Thank you for spending the time creating this. I think the first thing I need to do is to get a TDS and see how bad the water is here. I assume that as you are using this for your final rinse stage via a hose, that the pressure is sufficient to allow this. Is there much drop off when compared to normal pressure from the tap?
I did read on a thread on DW that someone who is a water softener engineer suggested that there is a way to "wash" the resin, increasing it's longevity but I'm not convinced I understand what he was suggesting..post #73 in this thread is where he tries to explain it....http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=104955&highlight=resin&page=8

No problem at all mate - as always, happy to help anybody improve their detailing regime!
Even on our dark blue VAG paint - i felt the drying process was so much easier yesterday.
I normally use a very diluted Meg's Last touch mix.... but this is no longer required with the filter in place.
If nothing else - i was astounded by how much better the shampoo foams up in filtered water.
So i can even back off the amount of shampoo i use per wash as well.
I still run the pressure washer off the main unfiltered tap - to ensure there is adequatre water flow;
but i can run the basic hose off the folter for a final rinse.... there are options to adapt this though ie. water butt.
I think you've got everyone's interest, certainly mine with the water here being very hard (no TDS meter required to confirm that!). Might be something for the Xmas list...Would it be possible for you to start a thread relating on this subject (avoiding polluting this one) as I've several questions, and suspect others have too.

(anyone else take screws out of things you're throwing away - just in case you need one the same size at some point in the future???)
Yes, got a big biscuit tin of all sorts of bits and pieces that I may need sometime before I depart this earth.

Especially for me. I'm really bad and making decisions, I take forever and usually avoid making it in the end by doing nothing ha
That sounds more like apathy.
Apathy is the ..... Oh I can't be bothered.

I can't help with the bluetooth module, but when I fitted a mic to mine I did run the cable down the passenger A pillar after fitting the mic first, although it may well be able to be routed down the other side. The cover on the pillar just pulls off.
I found that once it's routed down to dash level, remove the end panel (looks like it's got a rubber doughnut on it) and then taping the end of the cable that plugs into radio to a semi-flexible rod that's long enough to poke through. it makes passing the cable past the glovebox and other obstacles a little easier that trying to get your arm in there to pull it through.

I do think that a pad or disc change is the option as it does feel real wooden on hard braking and get fade very quick to.. Best options will be??
Changed your fluid in the past couple of years? Old stuff could account for the fade...

Consulting the Other Half should only be done if all other avenues have been exhausted. Plus she's likely to be wrong anyway :p
Brilliant.

I can't help but suspect that those who can would need the codes that are being given on the machine. That should assist in identifying the fault.

It probably will get worse over time but his advice is not wide of the mark..I drove my Alfa for months with some noise at speed before it was proven to be a wheel bearing.

Thanks.
The golf sounds worse than it was............
Hmm, O....K..... :peek:
I guess it's a matter of opinion..

mine squeaked at first - i took it back, they adjusted the brackets a bit, slapped on some more grease and its been fine ever since.
i've had it for a few years now.
I had read on here about applying grease but have been too lazy to get it up on ramps. I have some silcone spray so may give that a go.
TBH it seems to only does it on slow turns so it's not that much of a problem.

My inner child showed its head a few years ago when I had a black mk4 golf & I had the bbs wheels done in barbie pink.

Whereas your Octy looks very nice...

Be aware that Whiteline tends to squeak after a few months, well mine does... :(

Thanks for this thread Silver, I've been considering something similar for a while as it is arduous to drag everything out when in reality the washer is only used for a few minutes for foaming and washing off. I'm keeping an eye on your progress....
