Hi Rooted I think a friend of mine who had an Octavia first mentioned Victoria Garage then I think you did but it was very close together.. Sadly they only sell second hand cars not new....They did offer to buy my last Skoda and offered an extremely good price.. But they have serviced the last two of my Skoda s coming up to 6 years now . The sales man at "a certain garage " was going to get back to me last week to give me a rough price for my car........ but has not bothered... mmmmm nothing changes...

Rooted.... It was going through the first MOT and they phoned to say that it would not pass the MOT without back brakes /discs being changed.. I told them to do the brake change although puzzled as have never even with a hard driven company car gone through brakes.. (Skoda don't make brakes of quality like they used to I was told) Then another phone call to say front needs done .£750+ ..Thats when I stopped them... went to another garage, never went back to them and bought two new Skodas since... The VRS has had most likely 6 or 7 MOTs with same front discs that were needing replaced.. I do drive an hour away from them to service the car to a Village Skoda garage as lost faith in the dealership. Thank you for all the replies...

Thank you Guys for the info.. Re Service.. I had a VRS Octavia went for first MOT they claimed the back discs needed replacing £400 then hit me with the front discs needed replacing at £750 six years ago.. I refused to get the front ones done..Took it to another garage who found NOTHING wrong with the discs ......My son has the car now and has had seven or so MOTs with same brakes /discs and they are not needing replaced... So I never went back to them inc any service my Skodas required or bought from them They said discs were made of poorer material than old cars which I argued about. ......

Just looking at the best way to buy a new Octavia Estate in May. My Octavia Estate fully serviced almost 20000 miles/perfect condition is due its first MOT in May but would like to change/order another before that date and realise their my be a waiting list for a factory order? .. Only two changes required , would like an electric tail gate on the Estate and don't see me buying a Electric 13amp/Electric charge from power station model ... So a petrol /Electric. I think may be the best way to go.....I was thinking of Car Wow and local dealer, although not too happy about the local dealer in the past ripping me off on a service.... Any idea the best way to go about this guys?.

Thank you guys for the info.. Flyingscot, Just for info I am not getting 33 at all.. I did get 37... With a 5.hour 20min full charge off the 13amp I get 24 to 27... Skoda should just say the range is 100 miles as all dealers and Skoda staff I have talked to dismiss the 33 miles and you should just expect 24.... So why did I buy a car that will not give the glossy range that Skoda and reviewers gave it..... If I go for a new Skoda I do not see any point in going for the latest 40 mile claim.. as it won't do that due to ambient temp, wear and tear etc etc.. Thank you again for all the advice ..Sadly may have to look at a petrol or other manufacturer which is sad as I love the Octavia.. al

Hi Guys its been a long 2 years as had to wait till they opened a service dept for Batteries in Stirling 2.20 hours drive from me. Had loads of issues with being put to the bottom of the list for getting a fuse recall and them looking at my loss of mileage.. (Won't go into it as it would take too long) . I bought the Octavia having been told it would give 34 miles on a charge. After six months and a breakdown it went down to 24 miles. So have been fighting Skoda since then. Today... Went to the local dealer who charged it on a fast charge, with a more powerful charger, and the car read 30 miles in this warm day read out. Still 4 miles short. I did get easily 34 to37 plus for six months before the break down. So it would appear Skoda and the various You Tube experts claimed 33... That is why a bought it..... So looking at the future if I were to buy another Octavia Hybrid is it worth it? Customer services were good thanks to a young girl called Shama, but in reality nobody offered any solution to the loss of mileage on a 13 amp charge.. I know I live in Scotland but the weather is not below zero all year... So not sure what my next move would be re sticking with Skoda.. Love the Octavia, but feel somebody lied to me and feel let down with the hassle with Skoda, selling a Hybrid with zero workshops or trained technicians to work on these batteries for over a year. al

Yes the slider is at 0 as per garage instructions although I have tried it at 0 10 20 30 40 and 50 with no change to range after a full charge.

Hi J caff No it comes up with 23 to 25 range after a full charge.. It used to be 33 to36. Mileage test= 22 actual road miles... A month ago I used to be able to go daily 12 miles to an airfield and back (25) and still have almost 10 miles of charge left... Now even on a warm sunny day I am on petrol on the way back 3 miles short as no power left...22 miles. al

Thank you for the info I very much appreciate it... Its just, within 45 seconds of unplugging after the overnight charge ...with No engine load, no heater, no air con on etc its lost a third of the potential mileage range,and not all days last month had cold temps... #At the end of last month I travelled down from Scotland to Worcestershire. Stopped overnight....In the morning my info net and sensors would not power up..... 24 hours later it came back, only difference is a reduction from 33/35 potential range to 22 to24 mile potential range....The ambient temp in Worcestershire was not cold.... I am just trying to see if its a fault... ? AL

Root toot..No I won't buy a car from Aberdeen John Clark after they ripped me off re a repair that was not required. so never went back..Two cars later from new, even went a distance to pick up the new cars. .. Ok get the point, but amazed as the ambient temp these last three weeks was consistently not cold enough to drop the mileage 13 miles I would have thought.. Also it happened just after the info unit crashed? ...But obviously I am wrong. So thank you everyone for all the feedback. I use lipos when I was worked, and with my RC helicopters....I expect in really cold winter days to be careful re loss of power but never a third of power? Thanks again guys al

Sorry to go on about this. A month ago I could plug my car in overnight and expect upwards of 33 mile elec range... (35) ...I had a failure of the info panel, and managed to get it back by changing the fuse to get the system backup and running, however after this failure charging only now gave me 23 miles range... Took it to the garage who said there was nothing wrong with it only the settings had been adjusted due to failure of this known fault and it was reset.? I tried setting 0 10 20 30 40 and 50% setting on charge and it still on a overnight charge gives me 21 miles... The garage sent me the email below today ... Surely losing a third of mileage when not running the car or lights, aircon etc ...basically the car not started shows 24 miles range directly after the overnight charge, this is before anything is turned on....can't be right can it? Can this be right or is it passing it off...After all the power supply could be faulty, giving less of a charge so I don't think the email addresses the situation ? al watt Here is some information I have received regarding the electric drive range for your Octavia. • The NEFC (New European Driving Cycle) is a legally required method to calculate the consumption of a vehicle model. The reason is that every journey and every vehicle type are unique. • The official catalogue information is not necessarily suitable to precisely predict the customer-specific consumption because every customer has his own driving style. The range of the vehicle with the electric drive very much depends on the driving conditions. The driver can actively influence/increase the range. • About two thirds of the energy consumption of the vehicle is determined by its design or by external factors that cannot be influenced. It is not actually based on the power it has received from the last plug in charge but on previous usage of the car including consumer settings ie heating etc When the vehicle was in last week all battery cell voltages were checked and are all ok. Oh really so sorry to hear that....Thats bad. I would not have thought lipo batteries would be so badly affected by the ambient temp as its not that cold yet....I fly rc helicopters with powerful lipo batteries which are more or less exactly the same and they don't lose that much power in winter. not a great advert for the car....A friend has a full electric MG SUV so I wonder if his 200 miles range will be less also

For your info...The slider I was talking about is in the sub menu which I never knew existed.....till the garage checked it for a fault not the Main info screen layered green one which is what you are referring to... I will set it to zero and see how it works out...Thank you again guys..The Skoda book is awful... When I lost the info screen a month ago..My son and I tried to find the fuses using that book.... It was so inaccurate...We found them at the back of the glove compartment passenger side, and almost impossible to get to them to change a fuse. Thanks guys al

Thank you both very much for your help... So to be clear I set the horizontal slider to zero then charge and I should after a full mains charge get over the 22 miles available after the charge... It seems strange that I was getting 33 to 35 now 22 to 27 ?

Thank you Beasty for the reply...Sorry Jcaff was not aware of the topic being discussed.. I took it to the garage yesterday as only getting22 miles on charge and to report the strange dead info net screen which they say is an known fault and will eventually be a recall... The garage blamed the info screen going down resetting stupid charging levels? They showed me a submenu I had never seen which shows a slider 0 to 50 to set the input charge level... He said to set it to zero... I doubted this on the test overnight and it showed no difference i.e 24 miles range... So I then set it to 30 and no difference... At the moment of writing I have set it at 50 to see if that makes a difference zero seems wrong to me? Its not the capacity screen with the battery graph its a slider menu. Sorry will take a look at the other thread.

The readout on the Dash showing miles left in the battery is reading low... The Mileage above showing petrol miles is correct, even the side % charge is correct, but the miles on electric is wrong.. After a full charge the side % is correct and the Dash should be 33 miles of stored charge but its usually showing 22 to 25 miles left.. Anyone had this problem?

E root...The battery was flat on Red and mileage was 10 miles which was on the factory invoice.. David, brilliant very helpful finding that page also Jim I will set it as you suggest thank you.. I will go for a rest drive tomorrow and test it out thank you so much for the help...Its a lovely car...

Thank you for the replies... Yes I don't know why they did not charge it at the dealership they had plenty of time... However, I don't think they know much about this model. My training was just set it to Hybrid and drive......the car willdo the rest!. I will have a look to see if I can find another mode.....Have not seen it and nothing in the manual.

I have just bought a 1.4 Octavia Hybrid.. So have not had a chance to drive a distance to check the charging of the high powered battery with the petrol engine... I did picked up the car, and the battery was zero in red....Travelled the 69 miles to home and it had not charged virtually any % ....I can not find anything on the manual re how long it will take to charge while driving... So I am not sure if there is something I have to set?....All I have in the info net is ELEC or HYBRID choice.....My understanding is the car on Hybrid will use elec first then charge from brakes/engine.....But so far other than a quick boost showing in the dash seems its not charging....Anyone know if there is some other switch or Elec switch I don't know about....? I get 21 miles on the battery @99% house charge.

Tomorrow it will be a week since I ordered the car.......I think? I will give them till tomorrow to contact me as the car could arrive within a week from the port.. I also see that the Gap insurance they asked me to sign was well overpriced.... Thanks for the advice

It was Friday afternoon when I paid a deposit...It was Sat afternoon when the email came in with several documents allwanting extra insurance on wheels, paintwork and Gap.... I thought it was just an invoice as I was expecting to just sign..... with NO Discussion or info at anytime from the dealer other than sign the paperwork. I fell out with them on Monday and have not heard from them at this time/ since....Even though the saleman boss was going to phone me. Still waiting..... and I am not going to phone them...Do they want a sale or not? So they have my deposit but I have no idea if I have the car or not ordered..... .. Now that is poor form I think ?

I don't know to be honest... It looks like it aswas taken aback at these extras which they just expected me to sign.....I thought I was just getting the order invoice, so I felt a bit misled and annoyed. Yes thank you I will look at this
