  1. @G.B. : That might be part of the reason so many VAG s/w updates have to be done @dealer ( The traditional car makers seem to have terrible struggles with the concept of reliable remote software updates. In fairness, if there is even a slight suspicion of a remote upgrade crapping out then its best that its done by & at dealer )
  2. ( o/t as not exactly a moment of joy ... more a note of caution for about 1% of the population ) About 15 years ago bought a Panny breadmaker. Made very nice bread ... but over the following months in became clear something 'was up' ( with me, not with The Panny ) Went from bad to worse. Iritis had become a pretty serious issue for many months before the it was figured out what was wrong ... I'm a coeliac . Have tried G/F mixes in The Panny ... but they are just not up to much .... so gave up on breadmaking.
  3. Well.....perhaps General observation: never mess with anyone wearing Marigolds ( esp if 'Borderforce' are involved )
  4. This isnt the 'Dull Things' thread .....................
  5. Congrats on finding that FWIW my '02 TDI at 160kmiles is on the original clutch ( long may it stay that way - cross fingers )
  6. Meanwhile, at LAX there is a suspicion of some modest intimacy between another A380 and an A350 https://www.pprune.org/australia-new-zealand-pacific/658379-hit-run-la.html
  7. Would be nitrous oxide in cheerful, fun loving Germany, but.........on an Irish "Halting Site" its almost certain to be something that slipped out the back door at Porton Down
  8. Mr Morgan was at this eighty years ago
  9. I've let North Cork Gardai know. They have a few. If they cant spare one then they will probably send you a hachet. If they are all spoken for then you may end up with just a golf club ( which would be a bit second rate but easier to explain ) They gathered up a few earlier this year
  10. Oh Yes, the original purposes of such tools has not vanished. The tools are still needed. . . . The people that have found alternative uses for such tools perhaps need to be disposed of ......
  11. When I was young slash hooks in RoI were dull, very dull Sadly they have been adopted by a certain small segement of the Irish population 😞 . . . .
  12. I would wonder if some of the posters on the site are AI bots :{ Off hand I can think of a couple of accounts the seem to specialize in vacuous quasitechnical posts
  13. People who learned to drive the horse back to the yard with a load of fresh hay on the cart will have a very good understanding of this style ... ( some of ye may need to restrict your driving to large towns )
  14. Hmmmm..........this is looking more and more like F-B belongs in Dull Things 😔 1. It seems that F-B was made in Uraguay and not Argentina 2. The factory in Uraguay was closed in 1979 3. The stuff that is now sold as F-B is made by Baxters in Scotland 4. The site of the Factory in Uraguay is now a UNESCO world heritage site 😮
