  1. Hi guys, just bought a cracking little 2013 sport which has the optional 16” alloys on which look mint. sadly there is no spare wheel and I would like to add one for peace of mind. I’m assuming a full size 16” alloy and tyres will not fit in the boot space. my query is will a 14” space saver and tyre be the same rolling radius? if not what size space saver do I need. cheers in advance
  2. Update! Went ok, touch wood. Managed to route new cables, all wrapped tightly in cloth tape, down rear pillar and under sill trim all way to back of new head unit. Fitted microphone. Spliced in a switch live feed for the DAB aerial, did a hand brake bypass so DVD plays all the time and it all works great, very pleased. Toughest part was getting the damn double din cage in that gap! I will admit I used a lump hammer and a block of wood to 'persuede' it in, haha. Cruise control going into today and then thats it, one happy bunny. Loving the VRS
  3. Hi Guys, had a go at fitting a new roof mount DAB aerial today, it took a while and some swearing but finally got all the cables routed to [passenger footwell and didn't break a clip Left with one piece of trim to go in and it the passenger side sill piece. when I removed it, it popped out from under neath the trim piece on the centre piller (the one behind the passengers seat belt). BUT i can not get it to go back in due to the length it can't bend enough to go up under neath the trim piece again. I thought ok I will remove the seat belt trim piece BUT no matter how hard I pull it won't budge and Im scared ill break it. Any help please guys?!?! Is it just clipped in place? Thanks Matt
  4. thanks guys, youtube helped, relay wired ready for install. any tips on routing new aerial cable from roof to back of hu
  5. So any ground then? to the body of the car or the body of the stereo or even splice into ground wire?
  6. The DAB coverage in Cornwall isn't the best so thats why I've gone full bore with the roof aerial, can see it being fun and games lol
  7. Hi guys Goignt o be removing my aerial mast and base and installing a new dab/fm aerial. Amplified will not be needed so will be running new cables all way from aerial to head unit. Anyone done this? Got a guide? tips? Where does the previous cable run please? Maybe I can disconnect both ends and tie string to one and pull it through? Matt
  8. Think i am going to ditch original plan of using windscreen stick on aerial and invest in a quality roof mounted dab/fm aerial. I just have a few questions so please any help would be great: Where does the power lead go? its short so do i need to extend it or is there a nice power lead to the boot somewhere i can scotch lock into? Will i need the skoda ampler bit anymore as the Kinetic unit is amplified already. if i bypass the skoda amplifier to the head unit i assume this means i would need to run a new aerial lead for fm to the head unit. Whats best route for routing new cables from roof hole to stereo? Will I need one of those pc-502 jobs? Matt
  9. Hi Guys, Just won a pioneer AVH-x3500dab from the bay. I want to bypass the hand brake function so videos/dvds will play whilst in motion. I have seen numerous videos on youtube but in one the chap simply took the lead and put a connector on it then screwed it to the actual metal body of the head unit. Will this work? Or would splicing it into another cable back there be better? Many thanks Matt
  10. Yes I saw the Whitelines ones at almost £100!!! Think I would rather buy EZ
  11. Did you have 4 wheel alignment done? I can't afford tires every 7 months :(
  12. Which EZ shims do I need as i can't find ones for a fabia?
