Can anyone give a clue on a noise apparently coming from the front of the car at 65-70mph in 5th gear. It is quiet at lower and higher speeds. The car is a 2012 greenline 1.6d.

Obviously the R.H.D. version is different. The dashboard end cap must be removed and 3 wiring harnesses attached to the glovebox must be disconnected. Now it comes out easily.

I have all 5 screws out but I still can't remove the glovebox. It seems as if there is something at the back left side holding it.

This has been checked several times by both dealers and non franchised garages. Each time they claim something different is causing the problem but after spending lots of money and not solving the problem, I have just left it as it is. Turning the ignition off and restarting usually cures the problem but it returns like toothache.

I have the same problem on 2010 Octa estate. Dealers cannot rectify so still living with the problem.
