Thanks for the great guide! I was just looking to do the same to my OK but was wondering if it would be possible for the pre-face OK3. I noticed some of the parts used are defined as for the facelift. Thanks a bunch!

I'd imagine they're all the same as I think it was just exterior updated on the facelift

Great write up, just followed this myself.  Longest part was a tie between removing/fitting glove box to access the fuses and trying to retrieve a screw that I managed to drop down the air vent!

But now I have a daughter who can play on tablet on long journeys. 🙂

I certainly recommend the official cig lighter removal tool, took about 30 seconds to the lighter out.

Oh dear. I'm usually pretty good at dropping screws in hard to get places usually in the engine bay🙂

Fantastically detailed guide that's perfect or this idiot to follow. It took me longer to order the parts than to fit whilst I was following the guide.

Good to hear, happy to help.👍

  3. I purchased one from their website last week, I paid what it said on The screen, no extra charges, and one of the delivery options was 'fulfilled by Amazon' think it was £6 for the delivery. Took about 2-3 days to arrive.

Agreed - the bottom of that expansion tank does not look good.  I think Silica has gotten into the heater matrix; there is a TPI associated with this, so agreed - get Skoda to do it under Warranty.

FYI - I removed a silica teabag from a 68k mile VRS and I caught it JUST in time - the faulty seam at the top of the silica teabag was about to split.  It is so much harder if you have a double-skinned tank.  Pot luck on which one you get.  Hope you get it sorted soon.

Cheers yes sounds like it could be any time they decide to split too.  Good job you caught it in time.

  5. Hi, please can anyone tell me if this looks right, the two jars on the left is what is in there, the other jar is new coolant so you can see the comparison, there seems to be rust/crud in the bottom of the tank, and I can hear the bag but can't see it as it is the double skinned tank.

The heating is also pretty cool at 23 degrees and I'm sure there is a difference across the front vents.

It's 68 plate so still under warranty.
