I had this on a Merc Sprinter, an injector was leaking off. Have a look at the fuel return pipes (if there's any clear bits) and see if there's any big air bubbles. It was a common problem on the 2.5 cdi engine, worst around 02 - 04 year.

Not sure about your partucular car but some have fans which run when the air con is on. Also I believe some (french?) cars also switch on the engine fans and other electric loads like the heated rear screen when doing a dpf re-gen.

Ebay have floor mat sets for lots of cars. Look for "tailored" ie cut to fit the floor rather than generic. They come in various carpet thickness and with/without the extra heel pad bit, and assuming there are clips available for Skoda's, they'll come with them.

Hi, Just a hello from the son of a new Octavia owner. It's a 2011 SE 1.4 petrol auto. Hopefully it won't break down much but if this forum is as helpful as it seems then it looks like it's the place to be.
