  1. Hello guys. After changed the faulty number 1 injector to a new one, car starts to get better mpg. From the memory, while reading the the faulty one' deviation figure, it was like +5mg. Yesterday, I tried on the cold engine, the number 2 injector was between +1.8 to+2mg. On the warmer engine, I got following ones. Both taken while engine was in idle. Is the number 2 injector on the way out or its in the normal range? On the coding the injector using the vcds, I put extra 0 after the six digits like the rest injectors setting, is this correct? Thanks in advance. 18:30:53 IDE00025 Coolant temperature 74 °C IDE00365-ENG99400 Injection quantity deviation cylinder 1-FAC_CYL_BAL1 -0.4484 mg/stroke IDE00366-ENG101187 Injection quantity deviation cylinder 2-FAC_CYL_BAL2 1.1234 mg/stroke IDE00367-ENG101684 Injection quantity deviation cylinder 3-FAC_CYL_BAL3 -0.3832 mg/stroke IDE00368-ENG103465 Injection quantity deviation cylinder 4-FAC_CYL_BAL4 -0.1870 mg/stroke
  2. I have no idea, feeling like they are consumable parts. Hope the rest on my car could last a considerable time. If not, I will try change earlier after like reduced mpg, rough idle, annoying noise and shake on idle happen almost at same time again.
  3. The price for a brand-new one is around £350, and a refurbished one somewhere £150 to 200,covering 3months to 1 year warranty. I might just wait a bit for the brand new one. It's a Siemens VDO. Is this the only brand that making the new part?
  4. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I just need to find the part. Will try some local diesel specialists as new part seems lack of supply.
  5. Thank your guys for the replies. Do you change all of them, in pair or just replace the faulty one(ones)? I will keep this car for as long as it could last.
  6. Hello Folks Had the 10 reg fabia mk2 1.6 tdi CAYA engine about 10 years,66k miles, haven't done the diesel emmision fix. Last couple of months, it developed a rough idel and annoying noise. Then last thursday, glow plug flashed and eningle management lit while driving, it turned out the inector 1 in faulty after VCDS scan. Car could still start but sounds not right, and glow plug flashes after start up. Is the injector in faulty or the bad wiring? I've checked the resistance of the injectors. Injector 1 is 7.14, can't get the figure from the rest injectors. Tried to swap the connectors between injector 1 and 2, but the cable from the injector 2 is too short to reach injector 1. Car couldn't start with 3 injectors while injector 1's connector goes to the injector 2. Just wanted to make sure that the new injector would fix this fault. Can't source a new injector atm from well known parts store at the moment. Thanks in advance.
  7. My 1.6 tdi had once (6,7 years ago), the glow plug flashing while driving on A road. Driving about 20 mins after that, stopped at a service station, engine off, started the engine again, the flash thing disappeared, and never went back. Might be different case from yours.
  8. Front springs were changed 2017 with Kilens, cost 40 ( springs)+ 80ish Labour. Comparing the total cost, it's too risky if anything goes wrong while working on the springs.
  9. Thanks for advice. Don't think that would make difference because I disconnected the old battery for a quite long time, almost a week. I thought it was a ECU resetting things but I have no idea as you said if this annoying sound was already there. Will update if had the outcome.
  10. Thank you. I will then try to get it driven more often to see if the noise goes away or any fault code coming in.
  11. Thanks. I've had the car about 9 years, its idle speed is always just under 800rpm, except cold or doing the dpf regen. This symptom happens on both cold and warmed engine after changed the battery. The car hasn't driven too much, about once a month during this time. Will increase idle speed through vcds solve this problem? Or where should I look for ? Many thanks
  12. Thanks. The car is not a start/stop one.
  13. Hello. Changed car battery from 027 to 096,so different size, different brand, and more CCA. Car is 10reg 1.6tdi, 65k miles. I tried to recode the new battery through vcds, but have found no such choice following the Ross tech website instruction. Do I need to recode? Car starts fine, drives fine, no errors on dash or vcds, but as soon as in parking position with handbrake on, it making low buzzing noises, will disappear if press brake or gas pedals, releasing the pedals noises reappear. Idle is 780rpm showing from dash and vcds. Is this the normal idle learning symptom? Any ideas? Many thanks
  14. Thanks for your reply, mickmartin . Much appreciated that helping me to get all the necessaries b4 even starting the job. Thanks again.
  15. Hello folks Upgraded to car battery from 027 to 096. These two batteries share the height and width, the latter has around 3cm more length. As a thought, as have a spare 115 battery, which is 4cm more length than the 096, the battery tray currently in the car seems can't handle the 115. Looked on bay, there is some universal battery holder, can this kind of holder be used in my Fabia? Because when I looked on current battery holder, it is fixed to one plastic component with one or two bolts. Many thanks.
