I have 19's on as standard and the ride is fine, if anything it's the suspension that's the problem with or being too floaty, so I couldn't go to smaller wheels it would look silly on my sportline model

I find the suspension floaty/bouncy  on both sets of wheels. In fact it  feels worse on the 19” because the wheels are so hard and it sets the suspension off bouncing.
Completely agree the 19” are the best for aesthetics.
I don’t think you realise the difference until you try a smaller wheel.

  2. I run 17” winter wheels and have 19” summer alloys  . I hate the road and suspension noise/ crashing with the 19” and look forward to having the 17” on. They are quieter, comfier, grippier and feel quicker. That being said the 19” are not uncomfortable just noisier with more trim rattle and more prone to wheel spin

ideally I’d of had 18” wheels for summer but the car came with the 19” upgrade . I personally think the 17” look a tad small but I don’t care when I’m driving it!

  3. Agree with the other comments.
It comes down to equipment/space  Vs the basics of a good comfortable drive/ gearbox.
I love the superb equipment levels but having had BMWs  before miss the basics of good suspension/ noise insulation .

Personally I’ve been disappointed with the DSG (mines a 7spd). I find the hesitation at low speeds/ setting off a pain In our diesel . It probably doesn’t help our other car is electric.

Must admit the superb is brilliant on holiday trips with the space and loaded up. We also tow and it does it  really well.

  4. The bi xenon headlights are fantastic and look nice. If you can I’d stretch to the SEL, you get some nice features over a SE such as denon, leather, heated and memory seats, electric tailgate, privacy glass and keyless entry.
I’ve not driven with the standard headlights on the superb but the Xenons are a big step up to other cars I’ve had

  5. I got mine from Marshall reading. I was really impressed with them although it was only 6months  old and an ex skoda car. I travelled 4 hours  each way and it was as described!

I was quite happy with the steering wheel being off centre and they paid for a four wheel alignment at my local garage.

Agree that there is plenty choice though.  I travelled so far because I wanted a factory towbar and canton!

  6. I think they dropped the 2.0Tsi 220 around Feb 19 due to emission changes so it may reduce the choice for ones with the upgraded Mib 2.5.

Prices have shot up since lockdown has lifted due to a lack of stock as people have mentioned.
Most used skoda stock are Skoda Uk stock for management/ demos/ staff etc and it just hasn’t happened.
I would contact Marshall’s or wait six months if your not desperate. When I got mine last year they seemed to have the biggest choice of high spec cars. I eventually got what I wanted ( Towbar, canton, alloys).

The issue with the 2019 FL is the dealers seem to be holding back on the options because it quickly pushes it past £40000 therefore higher tax!

When the dealers first reopened there where a couple of bargains to shift standing stock. I saw a few Passat RLine edition  272tsi or 240 bi turbo diesel 4motion with less than 1500 miles for 28k with full spec. They are now around 32-33k with 8000miles.

Agree with others that the prices are pretty firm, I wouldn’t bank on knocking more than a couple hundred off. Hopefully there will be choice in a few weeks once the new plate is out.

    Good luck with the search.
