  1. Hello and Welcome:D

I'm sure you'll have hours of fun in here,we all do!!!

I guess you'll be wanting to find information about your Fabia vRS and i bet a re-map will be on your mind!!!

One thing to bear in mind is Skoda UK trawl this site and have been known to use posts placed on here against the customer.

So keep it to yourself your actual location and you car registration and the dealer you are purchasing it from.

    But enjoy and have fun.

  2. And EVO also rate the Vectra VXR as a very good car which is over looked because of the Vauxhall badge on it.

The Vectra is a bit more in your face with its looks but you can get some great deals on them.

Also a re-map etc will take the VXR to 280+Bhp easily and for £3 grand you can change the turbo's etc and have one with a top speed of 189mph!!!!

  3. I have to echo your comments WrightyRS. I've driven most of the latest Renaultsport cars (except the new megane with the slip diff) and nothing i have ever driven so far is as fun as my clio trophy for the money. Owed it for 18 months now and covered 17k miles. Experienced no more problems than the revod Fabia VRS I owned prior to buying the clio; yes, the clio rattles at times on bumpy b roads, but I have learnt to tolerate this on the basis that it corners at speeds that still amaze me after 18 months of ownership.

I miss the MPG and the mid range punch of the fabia but that's about all. Never thought i would rave about French car ownership after many years of buying VAG cars. For some reason VAG cars fail make me grin in the same way my clio trophy does every time i drive it.

I will be test driving the Megane 230 R26 as reports so far suggest it could be the best handling fwd hot hatch offering to date. Check out this months evo report.

    Cheers Nick,

I'm lucky that i have my Octy vRS which i use 80-90% of the time and the Clio Trophy is my fun/days off/weekend car.

I love how alive it feels, how connected to it and the road you are.

I really like the R26 and i have to admit very tempted to get one in place of the Trophy but i know i would miss the Trophy like mad if i sold it so will be keeping it for a good while yet.

And i would want to get the R26 in WHITE but that isn't an option yet/if ever so who knows.

  4. Well if its done 10K miles it will be due for its first service now,as long as its not on the extended service pattern.

If it hasn't had its first service get that done in the price, and if its an 04 plate it will be needing its 1st MOT soon so get them to carry one out to make sure there are no problems on that front.

Otherwise arrange a AA/RAC check of the car.

    And HIP it yourself aswell.

Check the front seats for fraying on the base, ensure all the recalls have bben done on the car.

Is it a purchase from a Skoda Dealership?

Otherwise with such low mileage i would imagine it should be a very good condition.

And yes the Nurburgring is the best place,am going 5 or 6 times this year and am currently looking into buying a place nearby.

  5. Well your more than welcome to have a go in it,

I will say it dosen't pull quite as hard as Beretta's(Same re-map)but thats because my LPG conversion slightly effects it.

But it still flies along and its showing 110K miles on the clock now and is going better than ever.

I'm around Colchester next week at some point, not sure if its going to be for lunch or evening yet though.

  6. My September 2003 Octy vRS is on 110K miles.

Re-mapped at 10K miles, and various other modifications,LPG/Dual Fuel converted at 50K miles and it has been fine.

Had the cambelt changed at 70K,new dampers/top mounts at 108K miles, serviced every 10K miles at Impossible Performance.

It does on average 800+ miles a week,so will be at 150K by Christmas this year i reackon.

  7. Hello and Welcome:D

When it comes to options i always say to myself what do i want to make the ownership experience safer, easier and more enjoyable and within your budget.

The only option i would definately get would the Xenon headlights, they are worth every penny.

    Have fun.

  8. I'm all booked for the Easter weekend if anyone is also heading over.

Then will be going again in July(Fingers crossed),August,Sept,Oct,Nov.

I gather if a organised trip is going to happen August will probably be the month to arrange it for.

As September is taken up by the CZ trip for a lot of people.

Any thoughts and comments very welcome.

  9. Had a VR6 a few years back and it was fantastic, absolutely loved it.

If i had more room its the sort of project i'd like to go.

I only have the room for doing motorbikes at the moment, currently project is a RGV250M on a J plate, but i'm going to have to sell it as need the space.

Open to offers over £500 if anyones interested.

  10. AND it had 200 miles extra on the clock !!!!

The Various Demo cars that i had the use of when car was being serviced i put over 600miles on a 987 Boxster S,same again on a Cayenne S and 400miles on a 997 S when i had that and about 100miles on a test drive plus in a Cayman S.

You can't get a feel for a car if you don't do some miles in them!!!

Especially when its the dealers car.

Although i can't fault my local OPC at all, they are very helpful and always call back when they say they will.

OK i don't currently have a Porsche but i will be going back to one within the next 12 months.

I do miss my 986 Boxster S loads, but the 987 S/996 Turbo/997 S that i drove in long and short test drives were fantastic so thats the 3 i have to choose from for my next Porsche.
