I think 3 is very good value and shouldn't be ignored, but the issue of the network hop from Orange to 3 has been an issue for me, and will be the deciding factor in my move back to O2.
If you are in an area with good 3G signal then this shouldn't be an issue.
To be fair I think you are right. They do have some very good deals and I don't tend to have any issues when I've been in a city.
However living (and working) in the country means my signal is less than perfect and I have been disappointed with the level of customer service so I'm always negative about 3...:(
-
Have you tried a different handset?
I'm on my third handset now and I've had the same problem with all of them:(.
I've actually bought an O2 pay and go sim card which I'm using alongside my contract phone so I can contact/be contacted when I'm having problems...
-
I've had nothing but trouble with 3. Some days I have nearly full signal at work then the next day I may get no signal at all. Plus I can't get a signal at home. The customer call centre are no help at all.
I signed up on a cheap deal but I can't wait for it to finish now...

I'm with Sky BB now and it works faultlessly with Xbox live and it only costs me £5/month. I think they've got a 3months free deal on at the minute as well.
The only downside is that you have to use their equipment but since you said you wanted a free router, that probably isn't a bad thing

My mum has had an Alfa 156 2.4 JTD for the past few years and it has been brilliant. No real problems with it (except a leak in the screen wash system) and it goes so well. I was very tempted to get one before I got the Golf but insurance costs put me off

not really tried the IE yab addon to be honest. I downloaded it a while ago but I'm that used to having to open IE to view certain websites that I do it out of habit now...

I think ive delt with achillies.. can be quite a PITA on getting it to work properly because of the browser features it uses..
Stuff like that is the only reason i use IE really because of shoddy web programming or reliance on active-x and other naff technologies
Yep, I used to struggle with Achilles and FF and I had to use IE to update it. It looks like they've sorted things out recently though as I've been able to use FF. I did wonder if that was what caused me problems last week.
When you consider what we and every other user have to pay to use the site, you think they'd be able to make it work properly with every browser...

I was completing an e-tender and updating our Achilles profile. The tender was split into several sections, but you couldn't move on to the next section (saving your current section) until all questions had been answered. As I had written all the answers by hand earlier I was typing them up onto the form and attaching relevant documents when FF decided it was going to crash:(.
Gutted, didn't even begin to cover how I felt...

I use firefox almost exclusively however the memory leak has been causing me problems recently and its been a real PITA (cost me 2 hours work last week). I've been thinking about trying Chrome but haven't got round to it yet.

I miss the heated seats I had in my fabia. On cold frosty mornings they are brilliant while you are waiting for the car to warm up. and as Tom said they are good for a bad back
-
I'd be interested, would love to have a decent drive round there. It really just depends on the date as I may be working or moving house.

I don't like it, the front end is too wide and it seems odd that despite having such a wide front end it only has 1 seat...

This lot tried/are trying Welcome to Pipeline Card!
Been on the go for quite a while and sod all has happened. I don't know if they have just given up or the fuel companies just told him to bugger off.
Yeah I'm signed up with them however as you say, bugger all has happened. I'm thinking that rather than trying to get a discount at a particular retailer for 1,000,000 people, use a bunkering system (like Keyfuels or diesel direct) for a smaller more manageable numbers. That gives the buying power so you could get reasonable discounts from suppliers...
-
Off/on the record, do you lot sell to the public? if so do you pass the savings on or are you told from above to keep them high for as long as possible?
Unfortunately not. We buy in bulk for our fleet of LGV's and vans. If I could sell it on I would... (I can't even get cheap fuel myself!)
It makes me wonder though about the possibilities of setting up and operating a fuel card system. By charging members a deposit to get a card (to make sure they don't just fuel up and leg it!) and then an admin fee on top of each transaction I think there is the potential to offer a decent saving on current fuel prices. I've seen similar farming co operatives where they bulk buy and bunker to reduce fuel costs...
hmmm:rubchin:

Our bulk fuel prices are down at the same price we were paying in February this year. Can anyone remember what you paid in February for fuel?

Have a look here or do a quick search of the forum (search button)as this has been covered many many time before...

Looks like Kumho make some but they are for competition use only. They are expensive as well. There are some here
Check out
video though. How the hell does he see where he is going?? -
how heavy would they be?
-
I like them:O but as cheezemonkhai said not sure I'd want to drive round with them on my car.
I think they would be good for car shows
-
:rubchin:less than £1k?? That gives me an idea...
Looks in good condition for its age and price

On their website it is listed as

Good new. Glad you got it sorted out and weren't ripped off:thumbup:

Did you pay by Credit card? If you can't make contact with them you can always claim it back from the CC company.

Temperature gauge problems
in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Posted · Edited by tdirob
Hello.
SWMBO has been having some issues with her Fabia over the past few weeks. The temperature gauge stays on cold all the time unless she is stuck in traffic when it move towards normal temp. On top of that, she also says that the heater will only blow luke warm air (which gets warmer when stuck in traffic).
When she first started having problems, I replaced the temperature sender however it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
I was going to replace the thermostat next but thought I'd ask the experts before spending any more money! Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?
Thanks,
Rob
Edit: I probably should have mentioned that it is a 1.4mpi engine...
