  1. Apologies if this is a duplicate posting - the one I submitted a few days ago seems to have gone into the ether. I'm seeking a Workshop Manual (NOT Owner's Manual) and a maintenance schedule for my 2017 Octavia Tdi. If anyone can send links for these I'd be very grateful. Thanks chaps
  2. Please does anyone have a maintenance schedule for a Mk 3 Octavia 1.9 Tdi and/or a workshop manual (NOT an owner's manual) ?Tks guys
  3. Bought a Skoda Approved second hand Octavia from Bristo's in late 2022. When I got the car hime there was no MOT document so I went online to DVLA only to discover several advisories on the MOT. Including 3 tyres near wear limit and oil misting on a shock absorber. Frankly, SHOCK was what I felt after paying top price for a dealer approved car. To be fair they did agree to replace the tyres and shock absorber "under warranty" but it did shake my faith in Bristo's and would hesitate to buy from them again.
  4. I feared it might be the matrix. Are pattern parts OK or should I cough up for a Skoda part ?
  5. Thanks - I remember now that worked last time. But this time it hasn't done the trick (I tried the procedure several times) Is there another programming fix pls guys ?
  6. My heater is just blowing cold air. Last time it was fixed by reprogramming the electronics controlling the vents. Can't find the procedure on here in search. Pls can someone enlighten me ? Tks guys
  7. Thank you - this may help others as clueless as me: Select CAR on the centre console. Then select the cogs icon at bottom right of the screen. Then touch the screen to scroll up and down the various settings. I'm ecstatic at also turning off the intensely annoying "driver alert" warning that pops up at random when I'm wide awake and not dozing off 😁
  8. My 2017 Octavia Tdi suddenly lost its computer memory. I performed a factory re-set which brought back the digital speedometer display but the central locking now unlocks only the driver's door. There may be other functions missing that I'm not aware of. Any advice welcome please.
  9. Thanks again. I've fitted an AGM battery just like the original so I'm hoping the car will "learn" it as mentioned in the guide sent on Frb 15
  10. Thank you. No idea how to programme the battery to the car ! Does anyone on here know how please ? Hope it doesn't have to go to a Skoda dealer !
  11. SORTED 😁Acting on good advice on here I went for an AGM start/stop battery. Very cheap at £124.99 delivered from GSF Car Parts. Only 3 yr warranty but does the job. BTW to avoid any issues in disconnecting the battery I connected the new one to the two battery leads with jump leads until I got the old battery out. Best to have an assistant helping to avoid shorting anything out ! Thanks again fellas
  12. Thank you. I don't think stop start is any benefit unless you constantly drive in city traffic - which I don't!
  13. Car is 2017. Will post pix of battery when it stops chucking it down with rain !
  14. Thank you. Terminal configuration is correct but no idea about what EFB or AGM means
  15. My Octavia Mk3 2.O TDi needs a new battery. I have a good battery in stock from a previous car - Type 096 Heavy Duty - but when I try to cross check this with my Skoda using eBay, it comes up as "not suitable." Does anyone know if this is correct, or if not what battery I need ? Also, are there any issues caused to the Skoda systems by disconnecting the battery other than having to re-set the sound system code ? Thanks chaps
  16. SOLVED ! THANKS TO A YOU TUBE VIDEO, I RECALIBRATED THE AIR VENTS AND HEATER WORKS PROPERLY 😁
  17. Coolant is correct pink colour and car has full main dealer service history so doubt it is that
  18. I saw £193 for the matrix alone mentioned on Facebook
  19. My 2017 TDi heater is suddenly blowing cold even at normal engine temperature. Oddly the passenger vents are delivering slightly warm air (nowhere near hot) while driver's side are stone cold. Advice gratefully received. Thanks
  20. I am getting 2 or 3 regens every 120 miles in spite of long trips. Skoda do not provide a read-out from their diagnostic like that App and charge £132 for it. A bit steep to my mind
  21. Thanks for the information. Car has covered 71k miles - supposedly well within the 120-140k expected lifespan of the DPF
  22. Advice please: Bought a Skoda Approved used 2017 Octavia SE TDI from a Skoda main dealer with a one year warranty. Had the car 3 months and the Diesel Particulate Filter is regenerating very often so I've booked it in with the dealer to check. They are charging me £132 to diagnose the DPF and say this will only be waived if the DPF is found to be faulty. I was surprised at being charged. Is this correct under the Skoda warranty ? TIA
