Never managed to get more than 42mpg average :-(

Hi people , need your help again . My heater blower is still blowing hot air even when its turned down to cold . Is this a common fault ?

Very nice car , great spec too . I myself have just purchased a black vrs . I don't suppose you have the part number of the cup holder next to the stereo ?

I just brought some festoon type led bulb from halfords for my number plate lamps . Works a treat .

Can you suggest any bluetooth obd adaptor for this app ? as there is so many to choose from .

Can anyone suggest a decent app so I can measure my speed and distance on my phone and then compare the two ? I know gps on some apps aren't that spot on but I'd just like to compare the two .

Yes I think I'm very hung up on what the dash is displaying , its very frustrating . As for the milage reading , I do sometimes question it . I don't think it's right . I'll have to get an app to measure it another way and then compare the two . As for vcds , I think I'm just going to have to purchase it . But I'm a little unsure of it . I'm good with tools , but not computers .

My commute is all dual carriageway with a few roundabouts joining them for 16miles . I'll try the reset including disconnecting the battery . I'll also purchase some FORTE diesel treatment too . The cambelt was fitted by a recommended garage who we use at work . They are a vag specialist that have been going for just over 30 years so I feel confident that they have set it up correctly . Ok people . Thought I'd bring this topic back as I'm still not sure that my car is right . In the last week I done these things to my car . Cambelt and water pump Clean egr and inlet manifold (which hadn't been done ever) New maf New cts New thermostat Full service Geometry and im still only getting in the low 40's on my average mpg . I put £30 of diesel in and I got just under 300 miles from it . I work this out to be about 50mpg . Im confused , something is not quite right . I konw someone can help as always this forum does .

Today I fitted a new thermostat and flushed the rad through then vacuum filled the system once again . Run it up to temperature and the bottom hose was stone cold again . Didn't run it up so that the fans kicked in though run out of time at work . Is it still an air lock or do these engines take a long time to run up ?

I changed the cts and maf on my car today as the mpg is not that great . I drained all coolant from my car and refilled using the my snap vacuum system which normally works fine . My car gets upto temperature fine and the heaters blow out hot air fine . But I noticed that the bottom rad hose stays stone cold . Thermostat or air lock ? Any help will be really appreciated as always .

Would i get a fault code on my snap on solus if the MAF was playing up ? Or would it come up with a fault code if it completely breaks down ?

Ok , so after work today I plugged my car into my snap on solus machine and came back with no fault codes . Although the selection of engine codes didn't seem correct . If the maf was playing up would it throw up a fault code ? . The car warms up fine , after 3 miles on the dual carriage it was upto 90 degrees .

Can this be plugged in using vcds only or can I use my snap on machine ?
