  1. OK, not exactly what you asked for, but. I am from Denmark, and ordered the sister "Scala" TSI 1.0 late February. It was at the dealer April 26. The letter of conformity was signed by the manufactures quality management April 12th. So approx two week build-to-dealer here in Scandinavia. However they advised me, that delivery would be mid to late june if the engine was the 1.4 TSI version.
  2. If you move the steering wheel ever so slightly, the engine will restart.
  3. Have you tried to reboot the infotainment? Press and hold the on/off button for more than 10 secs., and wait till the system has restarted. Sometimes it helps.
  4. In really slow traffic (rush hour), I put the gearlever in manual, thus ensuring it will stay in 1 gear. In D it has a tendency to shift up too early, in my opinion. Otherwise I always leave it in D, using kickdown for quick overtaking. BTW the Fabia 1.2 TSI DSG just passed 250.000km without engine/transmission issues.
  5. I have the basic standard unit with 4 loudspeakers, and I find it better than the standard in Fabia II. However when listening to Pink Floyds 'One of these days' I need to turn the bass off to prevent damage to the mid-range loudspeakers. The standard system does not have bass loudspeakers.
  6. It could be a battery problem. Since my car was new , in may 2015, it would only charge to 70 pct. Three months ago I bought a pulse charger for ATM battery and gave it 5 to 10 mins. charge. Now it charges to 80 to 90 pct. But I drive long distances, and I think there are other treads mentioning that the battery is too weak for driving short distances.
  7. Once a month I put the lever from D to N and apply the handbrake slightly to remove corrosion from the rear discs. Of course securing that no car is behind me. No problems shifting back from N to D as long as you do not touch the accelerator pedal.
  8. My 1.2 TSI DSG, now two years old and 87kkm and DSG still working faultlessly.
  9. Looks like tension. I have not had it on the Fabia III, but on the previous Fabia II the windshield had to be replaced every second year due to tension damage.
  10. Ah OK - thanks for the explanation BTW that is rather ridiculous ...
  11. Lack of one-touch windows Hi Just out of curiosity, my Fabia III 2015 is an european left hand drive, and the drivers window has one-touch, while the three other windows lack one-touch. Could it really be so silly, that right hand drive cars has one-touch on the passengers side?
  12. Today the 20th of January 2017, this old fart will enjoy a flashback to the good old Pink Floyd:
  13. ?? Do not understand this thread. My 1.2 TSI 110 DSG is not noisy at all. After 40.000 miles, it is still the best low-revs-high-torque, and silent small petrol engine I have experienced. Is this thread some kind of a Honda commercial? (fine cars btw).
  14. However, crongratulations with your new Fabia
  15. "So why did you choose an automatic transmission Skoda?" My preivous Fabia II had the good old high torque/low revs 1.9 TDI, which easily could start in 2nd gear and cruise at idle in 5th gear. When looking for a new car, thinking that the days of diesel was done, it had to be a petrol. But petrol engine means no torque and constant gear change - I thought. So the obvious solution was DSG to do the job for a gear-lazy driver
  16. In April or May I gave the interior of the car a full treatment of silicon spray in the seams between plastic and plastic, and plastic and fabric. So far the car has been silent, but I know it will not last forever
  17. In Denmark a two-tone horn is standard on Fabia III (mentioned in the brochure). However the old Fabia II had the very feeble one-tone horn.
  18. A month ago I attacked all the seams between the diffrent interior plastic parts with silicone spray. It helped, but don't know for how long.
  19. On my Fabia it is the fabric of the ceiling rubbing against the plastic covering the B pillar. For now I hav just squeezed in some paper between the fabric and plastic.
  20. "i have some noise coming from the left side of the car, around the windscreen pillar, passanger side somewhere, it rattles at any speed over lets say 20mph, and it's annoying." Perhaps had similar noise. The interior roof upholstery is a rather loose fit. I just manipulated it with the fingers, and the weak noise disappeared. Hope it's the same source for the noise as your experience. I
  21. On mine, the left brake bulb went after 4 months, and the right after 6 months. I just replaced them as it is not so difficult to do. Assume that the factory mounted brake bulbs is cost saving crap, as I never had troubles with brake bulps in my previous cars. . BTW: It is a neat feature that the car points out the defective bulb.
  22. Just a note: The car will monitor the electrical power consumption, and disable the consumers as appropiate. That is due to the the VW MQB platform.
  23. My previous car was a 1.9 PD diesel Fabia II, and I loved the low torque which ment you did not need change gear constantly (in fact it could almost do without a gearbox ). I changed it to a petrol Fabial III and spent the saved diesel-to-petrol money for a DSG, thereby leaving the computer to do the tideous clutch and gear lever work. Do not regret, when needing acceleration just floor the pedal and it will change from 7th to 4th gear, and accelerate and change up quicker than any driver could do. It do changes gear quite more often than the diesels, but that is not the drivers problem
  24. Hi I forgot to mention that the start/stop feature will stop the engine when it is still cold, and I do not like that. Am experimenting with start/stop behaviour. For short stops at traffic light I hold it on the brake with the engine on. Occasionally the anticipated short stop turns out to be not so short. In this instance the manual stop/start by pressing the button is used. If it is dark I put it in neutral an apply hand brake, so the driver behind me is not annoyed by the rear breaking light. In neutral the start/stop function is disabled ab. factory, so the engine is always running idle. For really long stops, I put it in Park and stop the engine by pressing the button. When shifting gear lever from Park to Drive, the enging will start automatically. Hmmm - it seems I have a habit of complicate things ...
  25. I press the start/stop button to deactivate start/stop function before driving. Am not so keen of this 'EU invention'. However sometimes i use it manually, ie. when stopped I press the the button to stop the engine, and when the traffic light turns yellow press the button again to start the engine.
