  1. Thanks guys. I don't know exactly how broken the wire was but it was certainly properly broken after I had "carefully" removed the rubber boot. New bit of wire soldered in and problem solved.
  2. My high level brake light has stopped working but it's a bit weird. I removed the light unit and I can measure 11v (close enough to 12v, I presume) at the connector when the brake pedal is pressed. If I apply 12v from a power supply, the unit lights up. When the unit is connected to the car, I'm only measuring 6v at the connector. I can get a replacement unit cheap enough but it would appear to be working(?)
  3. Hi Can anyone advise the correct spark plug gap for the 1.2 TSI 86BHP Roomster as it doesn't seem to be in the manual? Also, I saw a post on here about them being awkward to get to, is it difficult to DIY? Thanks
  4. This is what I can see of the label with it in situ. It was a garage that told me if was charging at 17v and then later on they told me it was back at 14v so I don't know if they got it wrong or if something intermittent is happening. I have a meter, so I'll test it a few times before taking the plunge.
  5. Hi Folks It seems the alternator in my daughter's 2013 Monte Carlo is overcharging at 17v. From doing some searching, I understand that the regulator could probably be replaced rather than the whole alternator. Is that right and how easy is it to do? Is the regulator inside or bolted to the casing or something? TIA
  6. Thanks, I'll check those out. Also rimblades...
  7. I quite like the red but prefer the white. I have warned my daughter that she will need to wash the car every 10 minutes or so.
  8. Seen a few more on google images so I guess meteor grey was available at some point.

  10. The Reaction was only in the primer grey colour but this one was definitely a Monte and looked to be the same colour.
  11. Hi I've been searching for a Monte Carlo for my daughter and they are usually white, red, dark grey, black or silver with the occasional yellow. Today I saw a solid grey one (Reaction colour, I think). I was surprised by that one and it got me wondering what colours were available. I guess it's in the brochure but I couldn't find a download of that anywhere. Cheers
  12. Hi We went to look at a Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6 diesel 75 with 120K miles on it last night. There was judder pulling away in first and vibration/judder until it was unnoticeable at about 35 mph in third and upwards. The engine was nice and smooth revving in neutral. I don't know a lot about the mechanical stuff but I called a mate and he said it sounded like the dual mass flywheel "walk away". We walked and we probably won't be going back but I just wondered if you all agree with the DMF diagnosis. Cheers
  13. Hi Folks We ordered a Roomster 1.2 SE yesterday so I thought I'd do my usual thing and join a forum. I'm hoping not to need your help as much as I have needed the Multipla owners' group though Cheers Tim in Essex
