  1. Update I’ve checked for signs of main rear oil seal gone and it’s ok, also there is a noticeable difference to tick over if you pull dipstick out then replace again so that tells me that the pcv valve must be working and doing its job. Just removed diverter valve to see if the diaphragm is damaged but that also looks ok. Can’t see any split vacuum pipes. Only thing I’ve noticed is if I disconnect Maf plug engine still tick over with no difference
  2. Mk2 2010 fl Octavia Vrs Hi everyone hope someone could lead me in the right way. Yesterday 31st jan 2020 I was driving down a lane when car started to misfire, the engine light came on followed by epc light and then in the middle where the maxidot display is that came up with workshop. Called Rac and waited 3 hrs and he code 2 recorded codes Which was p0301 and p130a. Eventually the car started again and after a minute of ticking over lumpy cos of the misfire the engine picked back up and ran smoothly, I drove the car 2 miles back home whilst the Rac bloke followed behind and I never had another problem with it. He told me to try either changing the plugs are the coils which today Saturday i went to GSF and purchased and fitted 4 new Bosch coil packs and 4 new ngk plugs to the tune of £140, only had the car ticking over and revving it on drive seemed ok until I went out at 5pm and within 4 miles misfire again but now lights come on dash. Anyway I pulled over and switched engine off and rang Rac again 😡, he’s come out plugs reader in and no faults showing at all so he’s scratching his head and I’m thinking just wasted £140 today and something not needed. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the outcome to sorting it.
  3. Hi dan Insure wise is it a over the phone quote?

  4. Great thanks for that. What’s the ride quality like?
  5. Was wondering the difference in insurance after the mod that’s all. My insurance won’t insure me if I lower mine 😡
  6. Did you inform the insurance about changes to suspension
  7. Did you speak to Skoda uk and voice your concerns? I have the mk2 fl which I bought from my local Sheffield Skoda dealer with only 6k on the clock. In 2015 the engine went due to the dreaded cam chain tensioner with only 41k one the clock. Skoda uk sorted the replacement engine and asked if I’d go pay the labour costs but I argued the toss and only ended up paying about £250. We’ll now my mileage is 73k but around May last year when my mileage was roughly 62k I started getting a strange noise when taking my foot off the gas like a blow/rattle, even though I’ve had it to exhaust companies and even back to dealers they’ve never source where this noise is coming from. Well last wkend I decided to change the pre gasket just so that would eliminate that area and that’s when I found the cause, it’s due to the excessive movement in the wastegate actuator are that goes through the turbo housing. Rang Skoda uk today and they aren’t interested. So I’ve got a 2010 mk2 fl Octavia vrs, not only did the engine need replacing at 41k, the turbo also need replacement at roughly 62k. Don’t think I’ll be ever buying a Skoda ever again after this one
  8. Hi all I thought I’d got a blowing manifold gasket or a pre cat gasket on my 2010 Octavia vrs fl but on changing the pre cat gasket I found they was excessive wear on the wastegate actuator. I started getting a faint noise last May on a trip to the Lake District, when we got back home i changed the middle section exhaust clamp but still had the noise. I had the flex looked at in case it was that but ended up nothing wrong with it, so I asked Skoda when the service was due to look and see if they could locate where the noise was coming from? Still non the wiser when I returned to dealer to pick the car back up. Also booked it in for a 1 hr diagnosis at dealer and yet again couldn’t find owt and tried to charge me £97 lol. So I decided to change the pre cat gasket so it would at least eliminate and that’s when I’ve found the problem. Can’t believe how much excessive movement is in the wastegate actuator arm so it’s rattles so bad when you let of the accelerator as well as allowing exhaust gases through too so now at 73k the car needs a new turbo
  9. Hi everyone has anyone had a issue with the manifold cracking on their mk2 fl Octavia vrs? Mines 2010 and think mine has cracked
  10. Hi pal was yours the pre fl vrs? Why did you change your manifold, was it cracked? Mines the mk2 fl and I’m getting a strange blowing noise come from the manifold area when I take my foot of the accelerator.
  11. Hi everyone I’m needing some help if possible cos I’m at my wits end. Had car in at Skoda main dealer and also two others because of a blowing noise when I let off the accelerator. First I though it was the flex so had I check they said definitely coming from higher up, had car in for service at dealer and asked them to look but they couldn’t see anything and recommend I should book it in a diagnosis at a cost of £96 for the hr, came back with we’ve been out 2 miles in it and also had it on the ramp but can’t see where it’s coming from so I requested my money back. Had it at my local and they said I could be the turbo to manifold gasket so I said ok do it but it’s still got this blowing sound. The car is a 2010 Octavia mk2 fl vrs tsi, anyone else had this issue that could shed some light on this for me.
  12. They may ask you to pay a large amount towards the replacement. Others on here with less mileage have been asked to pay a big amount towards repair
  13. Might scratch all mine off and get some enamel and at very fine brush lol.
  14. I just mentioned it had only done 41k and it's not very good for Skoda advertising they keep getting the car of the year when you have to replace the engine at such a low mileage. I mentioned the soga act and then I recieved a call back saying they would replace the engine under good will. At first they asked if I'd pay £650 towards labour but I got them down to £324
