  1. Have you tried starting the car by pressing the start button with the key fob. Could be a battery that’s not fully charged.
  2. I have a 2015 Fabia petrol. I would check your handbook but I think the wheel bolts have to be fitted dry ( no oil or grease) and you will need the key to remove the security bolt which should be beside the inflater or spare wheel. If your battery charger is as old as mine 20 plus years it would probably be unsuitable for modern stop/start battery Joe
  3. I found this thread on a VW site which may help you. https://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/threads/is-there-something-unique-about-the-vw-carstick-or-will-any-usb-stick-with-a-sim-do.37087/
  4. Hi AlanN I have a 2015 Fabia 1.2 petrol in October 2019 I had the amber EPC and Engine block light up. The car drove ok took it to my indi garage after 2 visits they sorted it out. the work description reads "found turbo actuator seized in turbo vane lever Remove turbo & actuator free off seized joint and refit turbo" Car has been OK since. Hope I am not tempting providence writing this :) Hope you get your problem sorted out Joe
  5. I remember many many years ago fixing the heated rear window in a ford escort using a metallic paint. It did work but I did not have a steady hand for fine work so the breaks were rather blotchy. I am sure Skoda would be very happy to supply and fit a new rear window at an extortionate price If I was doing it again I would use a kit, masking tape, to get the line as thin as possible, and a fine paint brush. It just crossed my mind a kit the same colour as the heater lines would blend in better Joe
  6. Hi Raycross I have had Skoda Fabia SEL from April 2015 finding a phone that works with Mirrorlink was almost impossible. I did find one but getting it to link to the Bolero radio was very hit and miss and the phone could not be charged while Mirrorlink was running. In about June of that year they upgraded the system for users of Android and IPad and I was told there was no update for earlier owners. I did manage to get a free standing Garmin satnav out of Skoda. There was a lot of unhappy early owners who were lumbered with Mirrorlink you should read some of the early posts on this site. Use your phone with a suitable holder Joe
  7. Kein Sender means no signal found German web pages with people having similar problems with DAB. By the photo looks as if you are not in the UK. For search I entered ( Skoda 5A Kein sender) and found some pages I managed to get translated to English sorry I cant give you any more help Joe.
  8. My car is a 2015 Fabia petrol. I got a card from the main dealer to bring the car in for its second service advising the the air con needs service at the same time. Rang reception to fix a date and time and queried if the aircon really needed a service to be told it was only advisory so refused to have it done, my last skoda went 10 yrs with out a/c service. While waiting to book the car in 2 older ladies were beeing served and conned into having a/c service at a then price of £80 and that would be for the old type a/c gas. Joe
  9. I had a similar problem with the tyres on my old mk1 Fabia estate and got the rims refurbished. At the time I looked up the problem online to find it’s a problem with other makes of cars. It’s caused by corrosion on the rims allowing the air to escape very slowly. If your new tyre did not cure the problem it’s probably the rim. Joe
  10. Looked online main dealer charging £500 to replace cam belt probably there hourly charge is a big chunk of the cost and as far as a £2.5k piece of kit over time its only coppers per vehicle. I would find yourself a different garage Joe
  11. When I had my car done I asked about the water pump and told it was on the back of the engine on a separate pulley. On my old Mk1 estate the timing belt and water pump was combined Joe
  12. I have a Skoda Fabia 2015 1.2 TSI (90) that had its cam belt replaced about this time last year by an independent garage here in Tyneside. They charged me £308.22 for parts and labour, its possible your car has the same engine. Hope you find someone Joe
  13. Some of the fob batteries are in child safety bubbles which are bad enough to get into at home. May be partially open one so you can get the battery out the seal it with clingfilm and store it safely in the car for emergency, just a thought :) Joe
  14. Some battery brands don't last very long. I have had Duracel that have lasted about 9 months which I bought from their online website. If the battery dies on you push the key fob against the stop/start button that will get you going. I usually carry a couple spare batteries in the car. Joe
  15. Hi J & B I have a Fabia 2015 hatchback it looks as if the fitting is the same as mine. I checked mine its approx 34 cm over all with 14cm protruding from the metal shroud. I did have problems with the first set of front wiper blades I got from a car parts shop they did not clear the screen properly so bit the bullet and bought a front set from dealers which were fine. The difference was the first set had a multi purpose clip fitting which stopped the blade from lying flat on the screen where Skodas had single click fitting built in. Might be worth taking the old one into Skodas spare parts to check if its the correct fitting. I suppose it could be a problem with the arm or spring. Joe
  16. Buying new tyres you might find this link usefull in finding quieter tyres https://www.confused.com/on-the-road/maintenance/understanding-tyre-labels-markings-ratings If you can find out what your current tyres are rated it may help to find ones quieter when they need replaceing Joe
  17. I have had a Fabia 1.2 petrol SEL since 2015 and had a couple of near misses when the front assist has come on and prevented an accident. It also warns that you are too close to the vehicle in front by showing an image of 2 cars close to each other. It shows up at the bottom of the instrument cluster but it depends where you have the height of your steering wheel set as it can block the view. It was 2 years before I spotted it and had to ask this website what it was Joe
  18. Dread to think what the main dealer would have charged. It’s only a small independent garage but they are really good they sorted out a problem with my turbo charger. I suspect the main dealer would have fitted a new one.
  19. Independent garage has fitted a new switch. Can feel the difference after a couple of stop starts. Cost for parts and fitting £125 Joe
  20. Thanks for the information. I will get in touch with the garage I use Joe
  21. The starter button has become a bit erratic sometimes taking 2 pushes to start or stop. The car is April 2015. Would it be safe to squirt a little WD 40 on the button or I have an aerosol can of silicon spray which may be safer Joe
  22. I have the Fabia 2015 model in the hand book index under luggage compartment, emergency unlocking (in my handbook its page 181) it tells you how to manually open the tailgate. Joe
  23. Have a 2015 fabia the only condenstation i have is in one of the front fog lights . Joe
  24. I have the 2015 Fabia I started getting something similar recently. Gave a shot of WD40 (pointing spray downover) towards the base of each arm where it comes through the scuttle which seems to have helped. I have given up night driving, now I may just have to drive in good weather, if the noise comes back :) Joe
  25. I think you have been unlucky. My 2015 Fabia cooling system has been OK the water level has stayed at just above the minimum level since I bought the car. At one time you could get radiators repaired but that was a long time ago Joe
