Its been around 8 months since Ben last posted and I wonder how he got on. Although I am on my 7th Skoda since 1995, I do wonder sometimes how Skoda always finish near the top in the JD Power Survey each year.

Hi Graham
Welcome to the Forum. I've also got a long history with Skoda, my first was a new Felicia in 1997.

Have just reread your posts. Did you order your car and collect it within the week? If that is the case was the car already in the U.K?
-
Looks really good. Hopefully picking ours up in the next 2 weeks.

I asked the question in a garage local to me. My yeti doesn't use adblue, I was just curious. I was told that cars can fill up, but because the pump is beside the hgv diesel ones you've got to go into the shop first to get it turned on.
Given that the filler in the yeti is in the boot, and the pump pressure might be relatively high, I'd echo the advise about filling a big bottle and decanting to smaller top up bottle.
Thanks.

Looks great. We pick ours up next month, same colour.

Hi,
I pick up my new Yeti next month which also takes Adblue.
My query is, my local BP Garage has an Adblue pump next to one of its diesel pumps and the price per litre is very competitive against buying a container as well as being quite convenient.
Has anyone ever used this method of topping up the tank?
Thanks.

Before I went to my dealers I knew they'd stopped taking factory orders but didn't realise just how little new stock they had left to sell. I managed to get a good deal on mine and was more than happy with the px value on my Fabia.
We were in the same position. When the dealer contacted me, they could only offer Petrol Blue or Quartz Grey. Since the blue was my no. 1 choice at the outset, it was a no-brainier.
Enjoy your new car.

Hi,
Just ordered a new Yeti Outdoor Sel Drive 4wd in Petrol Blue.
Got a cracking deal and should pick it up in the next 2-3 weeks.
This will be our 7th Skoda over the years, however our first Yeti.

Petrol Blue, 2.0tdi 150 Sel 4x4. Seventh Skoda we'll have owned, however first Yeti. Pick it up in 4 weeks.

As soon as I saw the photo and before I scrolled down, I immediately thought of tar spots, however they do seem quite high up for tar spots to be the problem.

That's bad, the creaking from the dashboard is missing? Must be one of the few Polo/Ibiza/Fabia of the latest variety that has not got a creak - strange?
I know, strange but true. The only issue I've had is that the front parking sensors are sometimes far too sensitive. Skoda Ayr checked them at the 1st service and unsurprisingly found nothing amiss.
-
I've had my Sel for 14 months now and 11000 miles. No issues whatsoever with the gearbox and no creaks from the dashboard either.

Thanks for the replies. I just noticed that the spelling of 'telephone' in that link is also beyond them so I'll take the whole conflagrator {sic} with a degree of scepticism.
Mum likes to have brochures in front of her to leaf through. Normally I dismiss them as out of date as soon as they're printed but I inadvertently clicked a box asking for one to be sent to her home address. Was this wasteful? Could it be relied upon for specifications in the purchase contract with the dealer?
Take a look at Carfile.net. Got my last 3 cars from them including my current Fabia Estate. I use my local Skoda Dealer in Ayr for servicing etc, however I would never buy from them. Good for picking up brochures though.

I've owned my car now for 16 months and have no problems with the armrest. I'm 6'2 and have the seat in its lowest position and as far back as it'll go. The armrest is in a slightly downward position and I find that with my forearm on it, the gear-lever is in an ideal position.
I do agree that it gets in the way slightly when putting the seat belt on, but not enough to bother me.

Well I have Cappuccino as a colour, SHMBO said she liked it , must admit I like too. Looks rather classy on the Superb with the cream interior and perforated leathe( L & K 280 )
Every one who has seen it says it looks the DBs, why it's not popular in the UK I don't know? I am glad, as it makes mine quite exclusive

Have to agree. Had the Mk2 Superb Estate in Cappuccino Beige and thought it looked pretty classy.

Thanks again one and all for your input.
I've worked out that in the week that I've had the Fiesta, I've out £30 of fuel in it and done 250 miles. It is the 125bhp engine with a manual box, but in basic calculations, using £1.02 per litre as an average fuel cost, that works out at 38.5mpg.
Frankly I find that not particularly good. Its got and I have been using the stop start. My journeys have included some motorway / dual carriageway work, going to and from various car dealers and four days of to and from work, a six mile each way drive.
Clearly, I've explored its engine characteristics but I've also driven it sedately, so the car has seen pretty much all round usage imho.
I'm beginning to wonder what the lower powered 100ps auto (only auto available) might deliver in the way of "economy".
It's not about the economy particularly, but I was getting mid 40's mpg from my 125k Mk1 Fabia VRS in the same useage, which would rise to just above 50mpg on a run and that was with bucket loads of performance.
What sort or real world figures are you guys getting from your 1.2Tsi with DSG or manuals please?
I have the manual and around town get 45, on a run 55. Interestingly, prior to my current car, I had the Focus Ecoboost with the 125bhp. Brim to brim figures was always 41mpg regardless of how I drove it. Liked the car, but always thought the figures were disappointing.
-
I've had my Fabia Estate for 10 months now and brim the tank on a weekly basis. The lowest I've had is 45 mpg for a week of pure urban driving and the best on a run was 55. Being in my mid 50s I'm obviously not a boy racer, however neither do I drive like Miss Daisy.

April 2nd. 7700 miles.
-
Nope. Have owned mine now for 9 months and 7000 miles.
-
When I picked my car up in April, the Autolock hadn't been enabled, however it only took the Technician 2 mins with his laptop and it now activates at 10 mph.
-
I had the VRS back in 2004. Great car with 52mpg, however if it is only for short distance motoring, I would strongly consider a petrol.
-
Did you get the £0 deposit, 0% finance as well, or was that a cash price?
No, I bought it cash plus p/ex a Ford Focus.

I have an Sel Drive on a 17 plate and has everything you're asking for.
The only things I wish it had are a panoramic sunroof and reversing camera,
however would have had to go to a L and K model to get these.
